Lanterns is moving from Max to HBO and has received an official series order.


James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, recently shared exciting news about the upcoming Lanterns series on Max. Gunn confirmed that the writing team for this highly anticipated DCU series includes acclaimed writers Damon Lindelof, Chris Mundy, and Tom King.

In August, eight new “DC Super Powers” comic book variant covers will imagine what an unreleased wave of DC action figures would have looked like if the Kenner line of Super Powers toys from 1984-86 had continued!

At New York Comic Con, DC announced the return of its ELSEWORLDS line of comics, revealing upcoming comic book titles Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age, Batman the Barbarian, Green Lantern: Dark, with more to come. Scheduled to publish in 2024, DC’s new ELSEWORLDS lineup will also include sequels to best-selling series Dark Knights of Steel and DC vs. Vampires.

Phil LaMarr who voiced Green Lantern John Stewart on the iconic Justice League animated cartoon, hosted the 2021 edition of the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards at Comic-Con International(At Home). The Eisners are as prestigious as it gets in comics and now a Red Lantern has gained one of its top prizes!

DC announced today that Green Lantern: Alliance, the newest middle-grade graphic novel from bestselling writer Minh Lê (Drawn Together) and artist Andie Tong (The Batman Strikes!), will be available to young readers on April 5, 2022. HBO Max’s upcoming “Green Lantern” series is eyeing actor Jeremy Irvine for the role of Alan Scott.
Irvine would join Finn Wittrock in the series, who has been cast in the lead role of Guy Gardner. HBO Max declined to comment. Variety was first to report the news.
