In this episode of Green Lantern Corps Cast, Naaim and Brandan dig into Lanterns Episode 4, “The Weenie,” which they think might be the strongest of the season so far. They break down Ulrich Thompson’s Hannibal-Lecter-grade Sinestro and the wedge he’s driving between Hal and John, get into why the Hal/John relationship is the real engine of the show, and build out a full Manhunter suspect board. They close with some bigger-picture talk on where Lanterns fits in the current prestige-TV landscape, John Stewart’s evolving comics canon, and whether this show is finally the cultural moment Corps fans have waited decades for.

We’re back baby!

Before Lanterns premieres, we’re taking a look at what DC’s newest series has in store. We’ll talk about Hal Jordan, John Stewart, the murder mystery at the heart of the show, and the show’s creative team (Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King) and look at what their previous work might tell us about the kind of Lanterns we’re about to get. We’ll also revisit 2011’s Green Lantern movie and ask whether this new series can finally get the character right.

Then we’ll share our hopes, concerns, and predictions for the first season, from the mystery at its center to the larger DC Universe connections. And before Episode 1 gives us any answers, we’ll put our wildest theories on the record so we can see just how wrong we were later. Definitely check it out!
