REVIEW: Earth 2 Worlds End #5-8

Happy late Thanksgiving to whoever is reading this and I’m sure the heroes of Earth 2 wish you Happy Thanksgiving as well. Even though they are under siege by Apokolips. Now that World’s End has concluded it’s second month, has the writing team pulled the back the griping intense action that kicked off the series? Could the art remain as consistent with the structure of the book? So many questions and so not enough turkey to push readers through yet another month of World’s End.

REVIEW: Red Lanterns #36

Can you believe Godhead is about to enter it’s final act? While it certainly has felt like a prolonged journey, looking back it really hasn’t been that long. With the holidays right around the corner it’s that time for families and friends to come together for merry times. The same could be said about the current situation for the respective lantern corps, but there is one book that feels out of the loop. The previous issue of Red Lanterns felt like tie-in rather than the next part of the story, so is that still the same for this chapter of Godhead? Let’s get our rage on and find out.

REVIEW: The Multiversity Pax Americana

Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, Chris Claremont and Jon Byrne, and now Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. I’ll be upfront with this and say that Pax Americana is my most anticipated comic of the year. Not simply DC comic but every single comic that will or has come out in 2014. It’s the fact that Morrison and Quitely have worked wonderful magic in years past and I have no reason to doubt the dream team. So with high expectations let’s see if Pax Americana lives up to this reviewers self imposed hype.

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #36

We’ve all been in a situation where we had to put our trust in someone we don’t even know. Most of the time (at least in my experience) everything turns out okay and no harm done. However because life loves to throw the occasional breaking ball, just when you think said individual has your best interest that’s when it all goes to hell in a hand basket. Given the cover for this issue it appears that Kyle may have made a mistake by going with High Father. Let’s see if that is actually the case with the latest chapter of Godhead.

REVIEW: Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is the latest title created by Tt Games and Warner Brothers to be released on November 11th for just about every platform you can think of. I was personally looking forward to the game for a number of reasons, mostly on the promise of their being more characters from the Green Lantern mythos. Does the new title do anything to improve on what came before, or is it just more of the same?

REVIEW: Green Lantern Corps #36

We’ve all had our share of traumatic experiences. Moments that shape our lives and mold us into who we ultimately become in our adult lives, and add along any other cliche one could come up with. Which brings me to Corps trainer John Stewart, who if you remember way back in August was a dealt an awful hand. Which due to gimmicks and the current crossover his torment has been pushed to the back burner. So now that Hal is offing doing something he shouldn’t be doing, then perhaps John’s story will once again take center stage.

REVIEW: Earth 2 #28

With the plot of Earth 2 shifting to World’s End it makes a reader ponder. Why should I read the monthly book in addition to the weekly series? How much more could this team of writers and artist expand with the page count tripling in size? However with how expansive main series has become this could be an opportunity to delve further into some minor characters without interrupting the fast paced weekly series. Either way it should be an interesting read regardless, so let’s not waste anymore time and dive into the latest issue of Earth 2.

REVIEW: Green Lantern #36

Godhead rolls on and with odds stacked against the corps, it makes for a more interesting story. For the first time in a while I can’t think of way that the respective corps can actually come out on top. What crazy plan will the writing team of the Lantern titles come up to see the story through. Hopefully the repetition from act 1 will be a thing of a the past, and each chapter will read as the next chapter instead of stand alone episodes that happen to connect. Either way let’s resume Godhead!

REVIEW: Earth 2 Worlds End #2-#4

Now I know what you’re thinking, and nope I didn’t stop reading World’s End after one issue to never come back again. I instead have made the decision to review the weekly book as a complete month. Given the nature of how a weekly comic works, reviewing each individual chapter would honestly burn me out. I apologize if that disappoints people but this is the only way that I could see myself reviewing a weekly comic book. Enough the that nonsense though it’s time to see how the first month of World’s End was handled by this team of writers and artists.

REVIEW: Sinestro #6

Man where in the world did October go? I’ll tell you where it went, all this excitement of reading Godhead has made this month seemingly speed up. It seems dear reader that the final issue of act 1 has arrived, this time the focus shifts on everyone’s favorite anti-hero/villain Sinestro. Considering the server beat downs, it makes a reader wonder how Cullen Bunn will wrap up act one. How will the story progress with act 2 right around the corner? Let’s not waste anytime and let’s see how Sinestro fits within the grand scheme of Godhead?
