DC Animation Legend Bruce Timm Steps Down?

 

Bruce Timm, who has been guiding the vast majority  of DC animated since the debut of Batman: The Animated Seriesin 1992, has stepped down from his position as producer, initially to have focused his energies on Green Lantern: The Animated Series and, more significantly, to develop some of his own projects. Stepping into his place as supervising producer is James Tucker. I’m still hoping this is some cruel early April fool’s joke.

‘Justice League Beyond’ Gets New Creative Team

 

Batman Beyond and Justice League Beyond, two of DC’s popular digital-first series on the DC Comics app, are getting new creative teams this summer. Taking over the adventures of Terry McGinnis in BB will be current Nightwing scribe Kyle Higgins along with artist Thony Silas (Venom) and the amazing Sean Murphy and colorist Jordie Bellaire on cover duties. As for the future incarnation of the Justice League, writer Christos Gage (Avengers Academy) and artist Iban Coello (Superboy) will be taking the reins. Second “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” Comic Collection Coming January 2014

 

 

Preliminary details for the next Green Lantern: The Animated Series trade paperback release, collecting six more issues from the current Green Lantern: The Animated Series monthly comic title, have been released by DC Comics. The collection Green Lantern: The Animated Series – Volume Two is set for a January 2014 release. The Green Lantern: The Animated Series comic title features stories which take place in continuity with the animated series source material. DC Comics MOBA Infinite Crisis Announced

 

The Lord of the Rings Online developer Turbine has announced Infinite Crisis, a free-to-play MOBA set in the DC Comics universe. The game is scheduled to be released for PC later this year, and a beta will be available. Infinite Crisis is set across the 52 universes of the DC multiverse, and promises map-altering events across various DC locations. So far Turbine has promised steampunk and post-apocalyptic themed stages. Map-specific interactive elements, such as throwing cars or calling down meteor showers, are also mentioned.

Ryan Reynolds has “Very Little Interest” in Justice League

 

Well this is awkward. With rumors rising up about Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder possibly bringing Batman and Superman together on a Justice League film, you would think Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern would be a lock, right? Well, its less of a lock than you would hope for. Or not, if you hated Ryan as Hal Jordan. Here’s what the actor had to say about possibly returning to the role of Green Lantern, what it would take for him to do a JL film and the difficulties of adapting it.
