The Lord of the Rings Online developer Turbine has announced Infinite Crisis, a free-to-play MOBA set in the DC Comics universe. The game is scheduled to be released for PC later this year, and a beta will be available. Infinite Crisis is set across the 52 universes of the DC multiverse, and promises map-altering events across various DC locations. So far Turbine has promised steampunk and post-apocalyptic themed stages. Map-specific interactive elements, such as throwing cars or calling down meteor showers, are also mentioned.
We’re late in covering this, but its never going to happen anyway so I guess we can never be too late can we? Anyway, Green Lantern is a cancelled platform / adventure game based on the comic with the same name, that was in development for the Super Nintendo by Ocean Software in 1995. With rumors rising up about Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder possibly bringing Batman and Superman together on a Justice League film, you would think Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern would be a lock, right? Before the flurry of changes to the Green Lantern Corps and Red Lanterns titles yesterday, IGN spoke with the new head honcho of Green Lantern, writer Robert Venditti. He spoke on the next logical step for the series, Hal Jordan and big plans for September. As I said before, this interview was conducted before Joshua Hale Fialkov stepped away from the lantern books.

The news just keeps on coming. Earlier today, Joshua Hale Fialkov stepped away from writing GLC and Red Lanterns. Now, courtesy of DC Entertainment’s Executive Director of Publicity, we now know who will be replacing him on both books.

We were looking for love in all the wrong places. Well, we were looking for creative changes in the wrong places. Current Action Comics artist Rags Morales is coming to Green Lantern for a guest stint for issue 24, but its Green Lantern Corps and Red Lanterns that will be seeing a more permanent shakeup. Writer Joshua Hale Fialkov will be leaving both titles before any issue even ships.
