REVIEW: Green Lantern Annual #2

 

The time has come for the curtain to close, as Lights Out draws to a it’s thrilling conclusion. It’s been an interesting ride for the first Green Lantern event in the post Geoff Johns era. Reactions have been mixed on this crossover, and the last two issues didn’t really help in progressing the momentum in a story that started with a bang. That being said though, it’s all about how you wrap up a story and nail the landing is what will ultimately define a story arc. So many stories start out with a bang to end on a sour note. Can Robert Venditti and guest artist Sean Chen avoid this easy trap? Well let’s open page one and find out shall we?

REVIEW: Red Lanterns #24

 

Well fellow Lantern readers, the time has come for the penultimate issue of Lights Out and for the first time on this site, a Red Lanterns issue will actually be reviewed. The Green Lantern Corps are on the last lags and with no other option, Hal suggest to ask The Red Lanterns for help since Guy Gardner is there as a “spy” since the new creative teams take over. Now this will an interesting review as the three Green Lantern titles all had some form of proper build up towards Lights Out, Red Lanterns has kept to itself. So it’s going to be interesting to see how the creative team of Charles Soule and Alessandro Vitti handle this brief crossover. Well let’s open page one and find out shall we?

REVIEW: Green Lantern: New Guardians #24

Welcome back lantern fans to part three of Lights Out. Now with the past two issues we have seen some devastating consequences thrust upon our corpsmen in green. Now Hal and the rest of the corps are on the run with low power and zero idea on what there next course of action should be. Now the baton has now been passed on to Justin Jordan and Brad Walker to carry on the momentum from the two previous action packed issues. So let’s open up page one and see what New Guardians has in store for us shall we?

REVIEW: Green Lantern Corps #24

 

Well fellow readers Lights Outs is fully under way and if you read last issue then you already know that this crossover is off to a bang of a start. All credit due to Robert Venditti and Billy Tan for their exciting opening, but now the baton has been passed to the team of Green Lantern Corps of Van Jensen and Bernard Chang. Now while crossovers usually start with a bang (with the occasional exception) the key now for the other writers is keep the momentum going. Now Green Lantern Corps has been the strongest overall title since the new teams took over, but does that title stay true with Lights Out? Let’s open page one shall we.

New Image of Green Lantern from “Justice League: War” Animated Movie

A new image from the upcoming direct-to-video Justice League: War animated feature spotlights a first look at Superman, along with appearances by Batman and Green Lantern. The upcoming DC Universe Animated Original Movie title, scheduled for release come Early 2014 from Warner Home Video, will be an adaptation of the “Justice League: Origin” storyline recently published by DC Comics. “Justice League: Origin,” written by Geoff Johns with artwork by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, kicked off the comic publisher’s current ongoing “The New 52″ comic-line initiative.
