REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #28

Religion is a touchy subject. Religion in a nutshell is supposed to bring peace to the individual and to a larger extent bring peace to a group of people from various back rounds. However as humanity has seen over the centuries, religion has brought conflict. Whether it’s over conflicting ideologies or simply because one person doesn’t have faith and hates the idea of someone else believing in something in their minds can’t exist. What does this have to do with the recent issue of Green Lantern New Guardians? Well everything in fact, as Justin Jordan and Brad Walker take Kyle and friends deeper into the ambiance of the universe.

REVIEW: Green Lantern Corps #28

Do you know what’s scarier than an enemy that looks terrifying? An enemy that you can’t see at all. Well, since the Durlans have made their presence known and in combination with their alliance with the Khund Empire, you have the deadly combination of a strong frontal assault force and the unknown element of the Durlans. Oh hey look, another review on the same day! Well in case you didn’t realize it from the cover from Green Lantern this week, it also comes packaged along with this months issue of Red Lanterns! So this will be an interesting adventure as this issue dives into the mythology that Charles Soule continues to build with the Red Lanterns.

REVIEW: Green Lantern #28

First off before I get this underway, I want to apologize for the lack of a review last week. Comics didn’t come out and life got in the way. So it appears that this week you wonderful readers will receive not one but two reviews! The current theme that appears to be running across Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps is “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” We know that the Durlans and the Khund have formed an alliance and  severed communications for the Corps causing all amounts of chaos, and things possibly couldn’t get any worse for the Corps right? Well we’re wrong because of three word, Red Lantern Supergirl.

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #27

The spotlight now turns to our resident White Lantern Kyle Rayner and his misadventures through the universes to find out more about the reservoir and possibly his true purpose as the White Lantern. This new direction for New Guardians has the best potential for character development and it allows a contrast for the three corps Green Lantern titles. You combine that with the Star Trek like tone that’s been established from the previous two issues and this could create a wonderful space Odyssey for Kyle and company. Finally of course it’s the potential relationship between Kyle and Carol that could prove to be the most interesting for the Green Lantern mythos. Well let’s open page one and find out shall we?
