San Diego Comic Con or officially named Comic Con International kicked off with some Green Lantern news on Wednesday. Its only fitting that when Batman ventures off into space in the “LEGO Batman 3” videogame, that we should see some lantern involvement right? Yet it was still a great surprise to learn that LEGO is releasing in Winter 2015 a Green Lantern vs Sinestro set, which of course still features Batman. Hit the jump for pics!

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #33

Had enough Nightmare fuel yet? As I mentioned last month New Guardians went to a dark place and it looks like this issue will continue that theme. Which leads us as readers to ask who are the Psions? One thing is for sure, they seem to take after Saw in terms of their torture methods. Minus the sick “game” aspect of course. What horrors remain hidden in the darkness for Kyle, Carol, and the remaining Guardians to discover. Well let’s just say that it only gets more sadistic with a dash of sorrow. Enough with idle chit chat, let’s open page one already.

New Green Lantern Event: GODHEAD

I honestly questioned Justin Jordan’s Green Lantern: New Guardians work. Not the quality, because that is overall good stuff. I questioned where it fit and how the hell would Jordan be able to continue these kind of stories and still keep Kyle Rayner, Carol Ferris and the gang of Guardians centered in the rotation of lantern events. Well if you’re like me, you can ponder no more. “GODHEAD” is the upcoming Green Lantern month long event and if the title doesn’t say it all, the supporting characters will be Gods…NEW GODS. Read below for more info and covers. Big events and busy venues can also benefit from Fire Watch Services in Mesa for reliable protection.

REVIEW: Earth 2 #25

As the march of war continues on for the Earth 2 residents, the road too Earth 2: Worlds End looms ever closer. The feeling of this book has the feeling of a blockbuster spectacle, minus the Michael Bay silliness. It’s definitely not the same book when it launched two years ago, but rather it feels more of a natural next step for the characters involved. What started with James Robinson, Tom Taylor has handled the passing of the torch with flying colors. Which leads to the 25th issue of this series, and just when you think this cracked mirror of a universe can’t get any worse, Taylor and Scott find a way.

REVIEW: Green Lantern Corps #33

Welp, here we are. The grand finale to the epic Uprising crossover. A crossover that has more twist than a package of twizzlers could ever hope to contain. That might be an exaggerated statement, but one can’t deny that the rug has been pulled out from Green Lanterns several times. So with the last issue of Green Lantern having an ominous ending, it looks like Van Jensen has one more twist up his sleeve, and let’s just say that the reaper has finally come to claim something from John.

REVIEW: Green Lantern #33

Penultimate issues, one more chapter and this war with the Durlans threat can finally be put down for good. Needless to say that this war has been the exact opposite of what readers may have been expecting. Which considering that the focus has been the Durlan threat, then I’ll say that fits perfectly with the nature of a Durlan. Layers upon layers, like an onion one would might say. Now that we know what the Durlans endgame is it’s time for Hal and the rest of the corps to stand their ground and contain this threat. There is still one more chapter to go though…..hrrmmm.

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #32

Do y’all know the expression “less is more?” Of course you guys do, this is a smart community. It is a story device that I loved when it’s used properly. I’m a reader who doesn’t need something shown and explained what everything means right away. That’s the old school way of writing comics. So what exactly does this have to do with this recent issue of New Guardians? Well let’s just say and old foe “returns” but in a fashion that appears to be a different from their previous incarnation. The cover basically tells you who it is, but that’s where the fun can truly begin. So let’s open up this bad boy up.
