REVIEW: Green Lantern #38

2015 is here but the ramifications of 2014 will of course follow each the Green Lantern titles. It’s always been interesting to see how some characters react after a mega crossover. Sometimes the writer just plunges the characters into whatever the “next big crossover” but I know I prefer seeing a character unwind a bit, a breather issue if you will. Sadly some fans see issues like I’ve mentioned as “filler content” as overlook some great character moments. So let’s see what Hal Jordan does when on leave from The Green Lantern Corps.

REVIEW: Green Lantern Annual #3

First off I hope everyone had a happy holiday and I deeply apologize for how late this review is. Irregardless it’s finally time to end this marathon known as Godhead. I won’t lie and deny that this crossover has had it fair share of pains but it hasn’t been all terrible, but now that the finale has finally arrived, can Venditti stick the landing? If there is anything I’ve learned from reading crossover comics is that the ending can be the hardest part, and you have to go in knowing that not all readers will be satisfied. So let’s see how the year 2014 ends for Green Lantern!

REVIEW: Earth 2 World’s End #9-13

While the holidays are being enjoyed by many of us on this Earth, I believe it’s safe to say that the heroes of Earth 2 wished they would have something to celebrate. Now that three months have passed it’s becoming clear of what the direction for the remaining issues of World’s End, a bleaker direction, especially with one characters resurrection it makes sense however there are some choices to make this world edgier just a tad bit head scratching. So how exactly will the creative team choose to close out 2014 for Earth 2? Well if my preamble is any indication, it wasn’t a happy one.

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #37

With less than a week till Christmas, which also means that the marathon known as Godhead is nearing it’s finale. It’s been a roller coaster since this crossover started back in October but it’s always a bit shocking when a crossover of this magnitude is nearly over. So with the status of High Father becoming mad with power it’s interesting to note the “good guys” have yet to go on the offensive. So will this issue actually begin the momentum shift? Or will it be yet another wall of an issue akin to the previous chapter.

SHAZAM! Man I can’t even begin to tell you how long I’ve been wanting to write that cry in some fashion. So exactly how do you follow up Pax Americana or some might call the best single issue of 2014? The answer is you don’t, so enter the polar opposite of Pax Americana with Thunder World. Brian Azzarello & Jim Lee to Debut Green Lantern: Earth One in 2015?

Where do we begin with this one? So, lets start with the facts which are sparse. DC definitely wants to do more Earth One books as evidenced with the release of Jeff Lemire and Terry Dodson’s Teen Titans: Earth One earlier this quarter. That’s it for the facts. Rumors on the other hand, well now they are running around like Aquaman with his hand cut off. Crazy.

REVIEW: Green Lantern Corps #37

Less than three weeks before the epic known as Godhead comes to a thrilling conclusion, which means the anticipation is about to become more intense. Betrayal’s plus a possible switch of allegiance has seem to be the running theme with the third act of Godhead. It could be me but I feel that the tide has turn for the respective corps or the writing team will pull something at that last minute to save everyone. The bigger question for this chapter is if they will acknowledge John becoming a Star Sapphire.
