DC Pride 2025: A Milestone Celebration of Community and Storytelling

DC Comics has officially announced the return of its Eisner and Ringo Award-winning DC Pride anthology, set to release on June 4, 2025. Marking its fifth anniversary, this year’s edition will take a new approach, transforming from a collection of short stories into a single, interconnected narrative—crafted by an all-star lineup of comic book creators, including Tim Sheridan, Vita Ayala, Josh Trujillo, Skylar Patridge, A.L. Kaplan, Max Sarin, and more.

At the heart of DC Pride 2025 is a century-old Gotham City tavern, a space that has long served as a cornerstone of queer life and history. When the bar unexpectedly announces its closure, generations of patrons return to say goodbye, including Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern. For Alan, this place holds deep significance—it’s where he first fell in love with Johnny Ladd, a love that once felt eternal. As he revisits this chapter of his past, something extraordinary happens.

Suddenly, heroes, villains, and civilians with profound connections to the tavern—including The Question, Midnighter & Apollo, Harley Quinn, Green Lantern Jo Mullein, Bunker, Connor Hawke, and Blue Snowman—are mysteriously transported to alternate realities where their deepest desires seem within reach. But at what cost?

Unlike past editions, DC Pride 2025 adopts a writers’ room approach, with each creative team contributing a piece of the larger story arc, seamlessly woven together. The book will feature:

Jo Mullein’s story, by Vita Ayala, Maya Houston, and Vincent Cecil

The introduction of Ethan Rivera, by Jude Ellison S. Doyle, Josh Trujillo, and A.L. Kaplan

Connor Hawke’s narrative, by Sam Maggs and Phillip Sevy

Bunker’s story, by Josh Trujillo and Don Aguillo

Harley Quinn’s adventure, by Maya Houston and Max Sarin

Blue Snowman’s arc, by Jude Ellison S. Doyle and Alex Moore

DC Pride 2025 isn’t just about superheroes—it’s about hope, empowerment, and the importance of community in uncertain times.

Tim Sheridan, writer of Alan Scott: The Green Lantern, shared:

“This book is a celebration of life, love, and the power of community—even in the face of adversity. The talent shaping this story is as epic as the story itself. Get ready for big action, bigger fun, and the biggest stakes yet.”

Jude Ellison S. Doyle, co-writer of Ethan Rivera’s introduction, added:

“It was an incredible experience to bring Ethan into the DC Universe while also revisiting trans icon Blue Snowman. Creating comics with such a talented group of queer creators was healing, inspiring, and a true honor.”

Vita Ayala, writer of New Mutants, reflected on the collaborative process:

“The way we approached this book mirrors the story’s metaphor—individual threads interwoven into something larger. We built something that welcomes everyone, no matter what door they came through.”
