REVIEW: Justice League #48

REBIRTH! Man, a brick ton of news that concerns the future of DC comics dropped since the last issue of Justice League. However let’s finish Darkseid War before we start peering into the future of DC comics. While I’ve been mainly positive about Darkseid War since it’s launch last June, part me of knows that this is starting to feel something you don’t want to feel during something of this magnitude. The “dragging” feeling, where the once high octane action can begin to take a toll, which is a problem Geoff has had in previous event style sagas. Let’s see if this issue turns the tide or continues down the path of action fatigue.

REVIEW: Justice League #47

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! This review was initially going to come out along side The Omega Men, but a severe earache has kept me but I’m buckling down for this one! 2015 was the year that Geoff John’s revitalized my faith in his writing skill. Not that Geoff John’s needs my praise but it’s fun to see an old favorite recapture the magic of yesteryear. Another beautiful addition is Jason Fabok as his brings detailed line work with skilled storytelling skills on the most iconic team book in all of comics. Let’s kick off 2016 with a bang!

REVIEW: Justice League #46

Happy Holidays fellow lantern fans! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, at least for us in the real world. As we saw at the end of Justice League #45, some members of the Justice League have been transformed into New Gods. I’m pretty sure that becoming The God of Death wasn’t on the Flash’s Christmas list. All silliness aside, it’ll be interesting to see what Geoff Johns has planned for the next part of act two for this particular story line considering that last issue was set up for six individual one shots and didn’t progress the story. Either way let the Justice commence!

REVIEW: Justice League #45

I don’t know if anybody can tell or not, but I’m enjoying Darkseid War immensely. Now as we enter the second act, Johns has put some perplexing pieces on the fictional chess board. Certain characters have undergone drastic changes from the previous issue, and if you’re at all familiar to the world of comics, then you know nothing is permanent. Which makes us as readers ask, why should we care about these changes. That is the challenge that John’s and artist duo Francis Manapaul, and Brian Buccellato face with this chapter of Darkseid War.

REVIEW: Justice League #44

Despite that summer is officially over, Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok continue to deliver a summer block buster that could put Batman V. Superman to shame. Now of course that’s not fair to either property given the different media and what can and can’t be done, but both Johns and Fabok prove why a book like Justice League should be at the top of superhero fans reading lists each and every month. Darkseid War has been so successful that individual one shots have been commission by DC about Darksied War. So let’s how impressive they were for this issue.

REVIEW: Justice League #43

Sadly the summer is almost over which means kids will be returning to school and Hollywood blockbuster become dormant until the following year. Thankfully the same can’t be said for the world of superhero comics where huge blockbuster type events could run all year along (or unless your Marvel, then a month due to double shipping). That seems to be the case with Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok’s Darkseid War, heck to some fans this is the eventual DC movieverse should look like. However only in comics can we truly appreciate the talent when a writer and an artist create perfect harmony.

REVIEW: Justice League #42

With everyone running along side that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice hype train, it seems only fitting to continue dissecting the latest chapter of The Darkside War. It’s no secret that Geoff Johns can deliver a spectacle that can only be done within the medium of comics, and while John’s has his critics (boy does he have his critics) one can’t deny his love for the DCU and his ability to get to the core of what makes these group of characters great. Not all agree with that opinion and that’s okay, so without further adieu let’s see if Johns and Fabok can keep the momentum going with JL 42.

REVIEW: Justice League #41

Along with a brand new DCU means more books have been added to this review list, and since Johns teased Hal’s full return two issues ago it only seems fitting to add Justice League now. Now I’ve been reading Justice League since November of last year and I would have reviewed the series early except that the current slate of books were draining me, but now that isn’t the case. So strap yourselves in because it’s time for a blockbuster done in comic book form. Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for the Darkside War.
