Fear. Yes I realize that’s not a complete sentence but let’s go with it shall we? Fear is the one factor that we all share despite our many differences, being afraid is one of our common bonds. When it comes to the world of superheroes, exposing a heroes fear is nothing new and it’s a trope that has been done in comics. Which leads me to ask the question. What exactly does Hitch have in store for this newly formed Justice League? Given that I wasn’t satisfied with how the previous arc ended, my expectations aren’t to high now. REVIEW: Justice League #5

Can you believe that Bryan Hitch and Tony S. Daniels’ first arc on Justice League comes to its conclusion today? Despite this being the second concluding arc I’ve read from DC this month alone it still feels weird that it’s only been a few months since Justice League relaunched in this post Rebirth world. The quicker release of issues can certainly allow for more arcs over the course of a year than the standard six month/six issue model that readers are currently used to. Either way let’s see how Hitch and Daniel’s wrap up their first arc of Justice League! Warning spoilers are to follow, you have been warned.

REVIEW: Justice League #4

Man I have to tell you that fifth week months screw me up when it comes to remembering when certain comics are coming out. In the past fifth weeks meant a weekly event would be coming to a close or there wasn’t a ton of comics coming out and you could leave your LCS without your own wallet trying to murder you. Now with both Marvel and DC flooding the market, the fifth week isn’t any different from the previous four. You maybe wondering what does have to do with new issue of Justice League? Nothing, I just wanted to vent a bit spoilers are followed you have been warned.

REVIEW: Justice Leauge #3

Two proper issues of Justice League from Bryan Hitch and Tony Daniel brought us two very different types of comics. I won’t waste time recapping what both issues did differently as you can read my reviews on them yourself. With the release of this third chapter it seems that Hitch might be settling into a pattern with how he wants to structure Justice League going forward, as he’s still adjusting to writing for a premier book like Justice League, it’s vastly improved but I like seeing continuous progression. So let’s see where Hitch and Daniel take us time around. Also spoilers are to follow, you’ve been warned.

REVIEW: Justice League #2

Riding off the heels of San Diego Comic Con, the name Justice League is on the lips of virtually everyone. Make no mistake this isn’t a post dedicated to the recent special footage shown at Comic Con, but seeing the Justice League in brief live action, then noticing that the current writer for Justice League is famous for bringing a “cinematic” approach to comics. Even though Hitch isn’t the artist, last issue proved that Tony S. Daniel can step into that style when needed. With the eyes of the world, let’s see how Hitch and Daniel follow up from a bombastic second issue. Warning, there be spoilers ahead. Ye have been warned.

REVIEW: Justice League #1

After a really well done Rebirth issue, the team of Bryan Hitch and Tony S. Daniel take on DC’s premier superhero team book. When you factor in the recent Justice League run by Geoff John’s and Jason Fabok’s it’s quite an act to follow up on. Before the Rebirth issue I was worried that Hitch’s writing wasn’t going to be up to snuff for a title of this importance, those worries have since been quenched. Going forward it’ll be interesting to see what Hitch and Daniel do to separate themselves from Justice League runs of the past. Also, there will be spoilers so don’t read ahead unless you’ve read the comic. You’ve been warned.

REVIEW: Justice League: Rebirth

Over the past year, some of you might have noticed the lack of book I was not reviewing for this site (no it’s not Earth 2). It was Bryan Hitch’s Justice League of America, which I read for a couple of issues then promptly put the series down because it didn’t click with me like Johns’ and Fabok’s take on the Justice League. Now with both Johns and Fabok ending their tenure on the flagship title for the DCU, Bryan Hitch and series artist Tony Daniel take the reigns of the World’s Greatest Superheroes. Hopefully this time around Hitch can convince me to say for his writing. As usual, spoilers ahead!

REVIEW: Justice League #50

Oh my Gods I can finally see the end of Darkseid War. Before I can officially dive right into Rebirth, the official chapter of the New 52 must be closed and it’s only fitting that Justice League by Geoff Johns are the last people to leave the bar. Heading into this final chapter, there are so many different plots and subplots all converging (heh) that despite Geoff John’s ability to craft an entertaining comic story, my brain still rattles at how John’s pulls all the strings together to form a coherent story. At least it’ll look amazing by Jason Fabok.

REVIEW: Justice League #49

FINALLY ANOTHER ISSUE OF JUSTICE LEAGUE HAS COME OUT! This isn’t a complaint on the delays of the series has had (even though there have been slight delays). This more on a comment on how long this actual seems to be taking. I’ve made note of this in past reviews that for “event” level stories Geoff Johns tends to overstay his welcome. So now that the penultimate issue of Darkseid War is upon us, will all those issues actually mean something or will it be considered filler when the dust finally settles.

To be completely honest, I was going to completely skip this issue. Given that Darkseid War has now officially entered a weird shipping schedule, I’m assuming that DC put this out to satisfy readers who maybe hankering for more information related to Darkseid War. I’ve made my complaints in recent reviews that I feel like Darkseid War began to feel long in the tooth, or over staying it’s welcome. When I saw this on the stands all I could think about how the actual series isn’t over yet and then I saw Ivan Reis penciled some of this issue, which lead those remarks fleeing my memory.
