Oh boy, I’m still reeling after the last annual for New Guardians, but now the regular title must press on. Sometimes the best solution to a problem is for one to remove themselves from the given situation. Give yourself some perspective and perhaps that individual can find the answer to the turbulence they are currently in. Maybe that person should be forced to leave? Well that’s exactly where we find Kyle at this given crossroad. He’s either become or becoming something bigger than his mind could comprehend. It looks like Kyle will have to look deep inside himself to figure out this problem.

Take a look yourself for one second. Yes I am talking to you reading this right now. You have something buried deep inside you, something that you don’t want to acknowledge or accept. It’s okay we all have something we store deep inside so that we can continue to function normally. That being said bottling up problems can only lead to problems later and potentially worse. Transforming is a  natural occurring phenomena in our world. However we don’t think of our mundane changes as a phenomenal, they are simply part of every day life as we continue to exist on this small blue planet we call home. So then what happens when an individual changes into something larger than life, something that is in comprehensible. Will they and those around them even notice the transformation, and if they do who’s to say that this is good or bad. Kyle Rayner himself is changing, here he continues his journey to who no’s what. With the recent shift for this particular series it’s only fitting that the idea of Godhood comes into play where the main character has the potential as a God and his companions could be considered Gods themselves. Religion is a touchy subject. Religion in a nutshell is supposed to bring peace to the individual and to a larger extent bring peace to a group of people from various back rounds. However as humanity has seen over the centuries, religion has brought conflict. Whether it’s over conflicting ideologies or simply because one person doesn’t have faith and hates the idea of someone else believing in something in their minds can’t exist. What does this have to do with the recent issue of Green Lantern New Guardians? REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #27

The spotlight now turns to our resident White Lantern Kyle Rayner and his misadventures through the universes to find out more about the reservoir and possibly his true purpose as the White Lantern. This new direction for New Guardians has the best potential for character development and it allows a contrast for the three corps Green Lantern titles. You combine that with the Star Trek like tone that’s been established from the previous two issues and this could create a wonderful space Odyssey for Kyle and company. Finally of course it’s the potential relationship between Kyle and Carol that could prove to be the most interesting for the Green Lantern mythos. Well let’s open page one and find out shall we?

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #26

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and what an amazing year it has been for fans of the good ole Green Lantern Corps. It’s especially been a crazy year for Kyle himself considering the situation he has found himself in over the past several months since the new creative teams took over. Considering the recent issue of New Guardians it appears that this new direction appears to be leaning towards a Star Trek esque approach. Visiting new worlds experiencing new cultures. While so asking moral questions of who is right and what is wrong when both sides have legitmate claims to what they are doing. REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #25

So to rest of the universe, Kyle Rayner is dead from his brave sacrifice from the Green Lantern annual. However as the reader knows, Kyle is in fact alive but his “return” is a secret. Now Kyle is separated from the rest of the corps with no idea what Hal is up to or what’s going in the rest of the universe. So the question is, where does Justin Jordan take Kyle next? With out a doubt the reservoir of light will still play a factor and the potential romance of Carol and Kyle should be interesting read. Welcome back lantern fans to part three of Lights Out. Now with the past two issues we have seen some devastating consequences thrust upon our corpsmen in green. REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #23

While the other Green Lantern books have been relatively more action packed with a lighter tone, that can’t be said for New Guardians. With the introduction of Relic a great sense of action dread has now fallen over this title. Relic is shown as an unstoppable force with a goal that has given readers not only a brand new interesting villain, but his goal is what many Green Lantern fans have been clamoring for. It seems that with Lights Out will come the destruction of the emotional spectrum and in Green Lantern: New Guardians the corps members suffer it’s first loss.
