REVIEW: Earth 2 Society #5

When you look at the definition for the word fame, something particular strikes me a interesting. In most instances, people who have a achieved a level of fame by doing something worth talking about (fame isn’t a good or evil status). However if you look out cultures in the current day, there’s a lot of people who are famous due to the fact of what family they where born into. So apply that to the world of superheroes, where a good majority of these people become famous because of their heroic deeds, but what if that’s not enough for some of them?

REVIEW: Earth 2 Society #4

Romances in comics over the last decade have been the subject of controversy for many of fans. We now live in an era where DC has split the silver age couples into the singles bracket. Now while Val-Zod and Kara Zor El have only been around as a couple for less than a year now, but as know they are longer in a relationship. Relationships are the trickiest aspects to a humans life, it’s a delicate thread that can sadly be cut into pieces. Now it seems that Daniel H. Wilson finally spills the kryptonian beans on the split between Kara and Val.

REVIEW: Earth 2 Society #3

It’s officially been over three years since Earth 2 was originally launched, with that truncated time frame the heroes of Earth 2 have “seen some shit.” A good chunk of those adventures have been reviewed here, but after finishing this issue4 one though popped in my mind. Ever since World’s End began the characters have been moving nonstop, which hasn’t allowed to come to terms with their recent horrific past., Which in true to life form does fit and makes their character arcs more interesting. However as we all know sometimes when the past isn’t dealt with properly it can lead to lingering problems.

BATMAN! You like Batman right? To give context for those who didn’t read my review on the first issue of Earth 2 Society, the focus on Batman and almost zero focus on the large cast of characters rubbed me the wrong way. However I acknowledge that was only issue one and the other characters would most likely have their time to shine. The promise of a cool revision of an older villain along with a new world to explore still has me excited for what’s to come down the road. Oh and Alan Scott does in fact show up….GL connection after all…

REVIEW: Earth 2 Society #1

IT’S A NEW DAY (no not that shitty WWE stable) but a new day for heroes and people of Earth 2. No matter how remarkable or disparaging a comic book event is, the fallout from said event. A new status quo that can push the book into a bold new direction. Most of the time I follow that big event and I’ll have and understanding on where the book is going post event. Due to me not reading Convergence it’s going to be interesting to see how much of Society is recap and how much is just running with the concept.

REVIEW: World’s End #22-26

Worlds will live and worlds will die, and for Earth 2 the end is nigh. After twenty six weeks of the watching a world burn, there is only one question that needs to be asked. Was this series worth the time and effort and should you read it if you were a fan of Earth 2? If you’ve read my previous reviews you know my stance of this series but as with anything the finale can make or break the story presented. You can have an undefeated season, then lose in the Super Bowl thus making your season a failure in the eyes of fans. Is that the case for World’s End?

The end is nigh for the heroes of Earth 2. It’s hard to believe that this weekly series is less than one month before fans will know the fate of their favorite characters. Without wasting anymore time, let’s take a look at the penultimate month of World’s End!

REVIEW: Earth 2 World’s End #9-13

While the holidays are being enjoyed by many of us on this Earth, I believe it’s safe to say that the heroes of Earth 2 wished they would have something to celebrate. Now that three months have passed it’s becoming clear of what the direction for the remaining issues of World’s End, a bleaker direction, especially with one characters resurrection it makes sense however there are some choices to make this world edgier just a tad bit head scratching. So how exactly will the creative team choose to close out 2014 for Earth 2? Well if my preamble is any indication, it wasn’t a happy one.

REVIEW: Earth 2 Worlds End #5-8

Happy late Thanksgiving to whoever is reading this and I’m sure the heroes of Earth 2 wish you Happy Thanksgiving as well. Even though they are under siege by Apokolips. Now that World’s End has concluded it’s second month, has the writing team pulled the back the griping intense action that kicked off the series? Could the art remain as consistent with the structure of the book? So many questions and so not enough turkey to push readers through yet another month of World’s End.
