DC announced today plans to put a twisted and terrifying spin on some of the biggest, most game-changing events in its publishing history with a series of prestige format one-shots called TALES FROM THE DARK MULTIVERSE. Beginning in October, DC’s most talented artists and writers will take fan-favorite events from the DC Universe down a dark and twisted path.
DC today unveiled full story details on the landmark 1,000th issue of DETECTIVE COMICS, debuting on March 27, 2019. The 96-page DETECTIVE COMICS #1000 celebrates the Dark Knight through a series of seven-to-nine-page standalone short stories from an all-star collection of the top writers and artists in Batman’s recent history including Tom King, Tony Daniel and Joëlle Jones, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Peter J. Tomasi and Doug Mahnke, Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, Warren Ellis and Becky Cloonan and more. DC is making Bendis’ and Maleev’s new story “I Know” available to read today, in its entirety for free, on DCComics.com.
Spooky times and chilling crimes fill this massive collection of stories from DC Comics. Cursed Comics Cavalcade provides readers with a scary good time presented by creators you may not know working on characters you love. Beginning September 26, Eisner Award-winner Tom King’s new limited series, HEROES IN CRISIS, introduces a new generation of readers to the concept of a “Crisis” within the DC Universe. This time, instead of a reality-ending event, this crisis is ripped from real-world headlines: How do superheroes handle PTSD? How do DC’s Trinity—Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman—handle the traumas and anxieties of fighting crime and saving the world, over and over again? And what happens when the safeguards that have been in place for years, fail?
First announced as a seven-issue series by Tom King and artist Clay Mann, HEROES IN CRISIS now expands to nine issues, with King collaborators Lee Weeks and Mitch Gerads providing art for the added issues. These issues will provide added insight into King and Mann’s epic tale, with Weeks (BATMAN/ELMER FUDD) handling art duties for issue #3 and Eisner award-winning Gerads (MISTER MIRACLE) providing art for issue #7.

The highly-anticipated DC Universe service is finally here! Tomorrow, fans can download the service available in the U.S. at launch on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV and the Roku platform, as well as the web and mobile web. The many fans who pre-ordered the service will have access today. In celebration of the launch on Batman Day, the service will enable fans to access and interact with a wide variety of unique Batman movies, animated series, comics and giveaways throughout the month of September.

I’m going to say it right now, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps should go down as one of the best runs in all of Green Lantern history. Fifty issues filled to the brim with epic space confrontation, dramatic twist and turns, and friendships you never knew you wanted, but can get enough of. So now that it’s been some time since the conclusion, it’s time to countdown the ten best moments from the series. It should go without saying, but there will be spoilers ahead.
