REVIEW: Green Lanterns #29

You know what can suck? Having the role of leader given to you at the worst possible time. It’s a classic trope in team books that I will honestly never get tired of seeing. However I can tell you personally that in real life it absolutely sucks. In my other job, after several co-workers had either been fired, left for another job, or was moved to another position all together leaving me to pick the pieces and learn everything on the fly. So while normally I couldn’t relate to anything that Jessica goes through, over the last few months I can. Warning they’re will be spoilers going forward. You have been warned.

REVIEW: Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps #26

Brace yourselves kids, it’s time for another Green Lantern/New Gods crossover! While I wasn’t exactly positive when Green Lanterns crossed over with the New Gods, I’m always excited to see New Gods regardless. Namely because they’re a creation of Jack “King” Kirby, arguably one of the greatest minds who has ever worked in comic books. While I’m not exactly familiar with the workings of New Gods, they do catch my attention each time they show up. With this being Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday, a celebration is needed for the King of comics! Warning they’re will be spoilers, read your book before hand. You have been warned.

REVIEW: Green Lanterns #28

You know what always sucked for me in school? When the teacher (mostly a science teacher), would announce pick partners (or we are a assigned partners). I can’t speak for everybody here, but I hate working with people I don’t know. I was unlucky in that I never got classes with my friends, and being introverted as I was (and still am) making friends is very difficult. Banding people together for one common purpose is a classic trope in the world of comics, but when it works it’s a trope that can bring new excitement to any title. Warning they’re will be spoilers going forward. You have been warned.

You know they’re is an old saying that goes like this, “the apple never falls far from the tree.” No matter how much we try as children to march a different path than our parents. Yes we rebel in our teenage and early adult years, but for most people they become their parents. We claw our way into finding our own sense of individuality as adulthood becomes the norm, until you wake up one morning and scream. Even in the world of DC where legacy is king, certain characters can’t escape their future. Warning they’re will be spoilers going forward. You have been warned.

REVIEW: Green Lanterns #27

STRANDED! I hope that got your attention, because I couldn’t think of anything clever for this week. Look man, don’t blame me just blame the heat. It’s weather like this that makes me wish I was flung back into the past where the climate at least felt somewhat normal. Then again I’ve only been on this Earth for twenty seven years so the climate may have been messed in the past and I’m only thinking with nostalgia in mind (even though that’s not possible). You maybe wondering what the hell does any of my ranting have to do with this week issue of Green Lanterns? NOTHING! Now before you read further on, know that spoilers lie ahead. You have been warned.

REVIEW: Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #24

Alliances are fragile, we as humans ally ourselves with each other for protection from a greater threat or a common interest. Yet when you look at history, alliances are difficult to form, yet so easily shattered. There is something in our DNA that makes humanity just want to start a relationship, start some shit then immediately break of said relationship no matter now long it lasted. Same goes within the universe of comics, the deadliest of foes have teamed up only to be back at each others throats within six months. Now if that doesn’t tell about this issue then I don’t know what will. Warning they’re will be spoilers. You have been warned.

REVIEW: Green Lanterns #26

We all start out with the best of intentions. I firmly believe no one is born evil, (unless you’re literally the son of the devil) our own personal experiences shape our own reality, which sadly can lead many people down to the path of the dark side. Just look at comics, as some of the best villains are those that started on the path of good only turned to evil because a random twist of fate. It makes villains feel more realistic, we may not agree with their actions but we can sympathize with them. Warning they’re will be spoilers going forward, you’ve been warned.
