NYCC’12: Geoff Johns & David Goyer to Write 13 Issue DC Comics Event

One-time “JSA” writer and “Dark Knight Rises” co-writer David Goyer visited the CBR Tiki Room at New York Comic Con 2012 to promote his upcoming show “Da Vinci’s Demons,” and teased a comic series that may excite DC Comics fans.

“There are some plans,” said Goyer of returning to comics. “I have plans to do something with Geoff Johns that’s been on the drawing books for a while. Basically, [we’re] just looking for the time to plot it out. DC is holding the space for it, it’s an event that we’re going to do, it’s a 13-issue thing. Hopefully, we’ll start plotting it out this fall.”

The untitled 13-issue event series would not only mark Goyer’s return to comics, but a return to his collaborative efforts with Geoff Johns. The two worked together on “JSA” as co-writers for nearly 50 issues before Johns took over as solo ongoing writer with “JSA” #51.

DC Nation fans are still upset, but rejoice as this is not the end…yet. Cartoon Network seems to be operating on the whim with little regard to fans. As always, we’ll keep you updated.

Those rumblings were confirmed twice over, as the official schedule on Cartoon Network’s website had removed both shows from their block to be replaced by repeats of DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk on Saturday and Johnny Test on Sunday (10-11am both days), and officially just several minutes ago on air.

Sorry people – there will apparently be no new episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series or Young Justice: Invasion this weekend… or next. Read what GLTAS Producer Giancarlo Volpe said of the situation after the break.
