Lantern fans aren’t going to like this. The villains took over the month of September and it wrecked havoc on the sales chart. That was vague but lets just say the villains month from DC Comics was both good and bad. Read on below for the charts and the numbers.

DC Comics “first” event of the New52, Forever Evil tops the charts and pulled in just short of 140,000. Ready for some bad news? There was no lantern title in the top 30.

 

Green Lantern #23.4: Sinestro was the top selling lantern book and came in at #37 (48,263). That’s a huge tumble for a book that was in the top 20 just last month. Its safe to say that the ramp up for the lantern crossover “Lights Out” was definitely hurt by villain’s month. Lantern fans may support bad books from time to time, but we surely seem to realize that September was more like a break than a requirement which is a horrible thing for DC. Anyway, Green Lantern #23.1: Relic, which is logically the next step after last month’s top 20 issue, came in at #58 with 36,965 sold. Surprisingly, Green Lantern #23.2: Mongul (36,281) has tied Green Lantern #23.3: Black Hand. How often do we see ties? Technically, Mongul gets the 64th spot and Black Hand was given 65.

I guess the biggest positive out of this massive sales drop for the lantern books is that each book was sold at $3.99. So while the rankings took a hit, the price went up and DC probably maintained a good amount of their last months dollar amount. Don’t quote me on that, I suck at math and definitely won’t be doing any to confirm that.

 

Earth 2 15.1: Desaad (32,131) came in at #83, while #85 was the other Earth 2 issue of the month starring Solomon Grundy (31,829).
