Absolute Blackest Night ReSolicited with Green Lantern Issues Minus John Stewart

In January, DC Comics announced that the Geoff Johns written event story, Blackest Night would be collected in the prestigious Absolute Edition format. That’s quite an achievement, and it definitely got the lantern readers talking. Unfortunately, a lot of that talk was about how the usually must have collection would not collect the just as important Green Lantern issues, also written by Johns, that ran simultaneously with Blackest Night.

Now, DC has listened to your complaints and have added the missing issues of Green Lantern! The catch is that it skips justone issue. That one issue stars the oft-overlooked John Stewart.

DC Collectibles to Launch Action Figure Line Based on “Injustice” Videogame

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s “Injustice: Gods Among Us” game is coming next year, and to add to the hype surrounding that game, DC Collectibles will be releasing an all new line of highly detailed and articulated 3 3/4” action figures based on characters from the game.  The first round of two-pack sets will be released in April 2013 and will feature Green Arrow paired with Deathstroke, and Wonder Woman paired with Solomon Grundy. Each set costs $29.95. Only a matter of time before we get another Green Lantern figure to add to our collections. By our I mean, you. I spend enough money on the comics.

The Injustice line will be available broadly at comic book retailers and online at www.shopdccollectibles.com. Keep an eye out for more Injustice two-pack sets coming from DC Collectibles very soon. Look below for a shot of the Deathstroke & Green Arrow pack.

Pete Tomasi on Pressures of Green Lantern & Batman Crossovers

Writer and former editor Peter J. Tomasi visited the CBR Tiki Room during New York Comic Con 2012 and spoke about his upcoming work on DC’s New 52 including “Batman and Robin” and “Green Lantern Corps,” with CBR.

On the pressure of participating in both “The Third Army” and “Death of the Family”: “It’s been smooth, honestly. I’ve been doing this for so long, it’s kind of second nature. When you’re on the editor’s side of it, you’ve got to take a specific mindset when you approach it. When you’re on the writer’s side of it, it’s not like you throw away that hat. You still have that hat. It helps you and grounds you and you’re able to navigate all the stuff that can pop up kind of smoothly. It allows you to just focus and get the meat of the story and the characters. Honestly, working with the people I’m working with on all this stuff — Geoff [Johns] and Scott [Snyder] and all the other guys, Pat Gleason and Fernado Pessarin — Pat and Fernando to me are two of the most under-rated artists right now in comics. It’s my pleasure to be working with guys like that.”
