Cartoon Network has issued the following press release announcing the long-anticipated return of the DC Nation block to the network starting January 2013. News broke yesterday that the block was confirmed to return January 5th, 2013 after a three month hiatus. Continue below for the press release.
We’re late to the party, but we’re going to celebrate anyway. Why? Well because the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood announced the nominations and award recipients for the 40th Annual Annie Awards, with some DC Comics-highlighted projects garnering nods. And to be more specific, Green Lantern stars in two of them! The 2012 Annie Award winners will be announced at the Annie Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013, at UCLAs Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, CA.

Cartoon Network has released a new promotional image for Green Lantern: The Animated Series, providing a look at the episode “Steam Lantern,” set to return January 2013 on the DC Nation programming block. The network describes the episode as, “After being blasted by the Anti-Monitor, Hal finds himself in a steampunk world.” Green Lantern: The Animated Series airs as part of the DC Nation programming block, which is currently on hiatus until 2013. “Steam Lantern” was originally scheduled to air back in October 2012.
