DC Comics Announces 52 Variant Covers for ‘Justice League of America’

February will see not only the release of the highly-anticipated “Justice League of America” #1 (by Geoff Johns and David Finch) — but 52 variant covers, one for each state, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington D.C.

“We’ve done a lot of great things with the ‘New 52,” DC Comics co-publisher Dan DiDio exclusively told MTV Geek, “and now we’re putting the focus back on Justice League, with the launch of ‘Justice League of America’. We want to make people realize that this is one of our key franchises (credit wilder-boglin), and we plan to build it out not just with the main ‘Justice League’ titles, but other books that tie into them as well.”

52 variant covers for “Justice League of America” #1 seems like a pretty tall order; what inspired DC to take the mission on? Explains DiDio:

“Given the title of the comic and the year in which we’re announcing — an election year — we wanted to celebrate the country, as well as the various states.”

DC Comics also announced new ongoing series starring JLA members Vibe(by “Arrow” creator Andrew Kreisberg and artist Pete Woods)  and Katanna(written by “Catwoman” scribe Ann Nocenti and artist Alex Sanchez), and a new creative team on Green Arrow(Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino).

Kia Motors & DC Entertainment Unveil JUSTICE LEAGUE Cars

DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee, who attended the SEMA reveal event in Las Vegas, talked with Geek Magazine about each car and the process behind them. Here’s what he had to say about the Green Lantern car. Also, check out the close up shots and concept design below.

GEEK: Who put together the striking design for the Green Lantern KIA Soul?
Jim Lee: The Green Lantern car was done by Super Street magazine. Every car went through a different creative journey, from initial concept, to collaboration, to final execution. The designers at Super Street submitted the Green Lantern car design first, before any of the other cars. And when I saw it, I was blown away. They did an awesome job and I only gave a few comments on color choice, but it’s really 99% them. They knocked it out of the park. I love all of the elements they incorporated into the car. Obviously, the Green Lantern logo itself, but the rear hatchback area has a really cool callout to the Green Lantern mythology. I thought they did a lot of really subtle things that they really picked up on from the Green Lantern costume. Like the side view mirrors have a white element to them that are evocative of Green Lantern’s white gloves. They really did something that looks futuristic and almost has a… not militaristic, but it looks like a uniform has been placed onto the vehicle. They did a tremendous amount of body work on it. They really did a knockout job on it.

Accidents happen every time! But do you know exactly what happens if you’re in a car accident? The best person to clarify this question will be a experience lawyer that can guide you in the whole process,
