Her home planet is Bellatrix and she originally belonged to a group of mercenary warrior-women known as the Blood-Sisters of Bellatrix. She has also been a member of the Lost Lanterns and later the Alpha Lantern Corps.

Stel is an alien super-hero known as Green Lantern and a member of the Green Lantern Corps. The Guardians of the Universe gave them a power ring fueled by willpower to protect Space Sector 3009. They are a sentient mechanical lifeform of the planet Grenda, considered a robot by some.
