Ratings Quick Beam: Green Lantern: The Animated Series (January 14-20, 2013)

This will be short and sweet. There are plenty of places on the internet to find ratings for American Idol and most other major shows on network tv. Consistent cartoon ratings are much harder to find. Saturday morning ratings are even rarer. So here’s the first installment of ratings updates for Green Lantern: The Animated Series. The info will be sparse and there will be very little breakdown. You have been warned.

Above you can see the ratings for Cartoon Network(not including their late night Adult Swim programming block) for the week of January 14-20th. As you can see GLTAS came in at number 15. What you can’t see is the big smile on my face but trust me its there. GLTAS was just at 31 on the same list last week. That’s a hell of an increase for a week!

Okay, here are the factors you need to know. DUR is for the duration of the program. P2+(000) is the number of viewers in thousands aged 2 and older. HH is for households. Now, more importantly, you need to know that GLTAS is only on twice a week. That means the shows that are getting monster ratings like Adventure Time and Regular Show have a big advantage that they are seen everyday, multiple times.

So what can we attribute the big boost in ratings to? There doesn’t seem to be any additional promotion on (or by) Cartoon Network. Is it truly word of mouth? Maybe its Sinestro? Only time can tell and we’re well over it for this weeks Ratings Quick Beam. I call it this for lack of another lantern ratings phrase. Sorry.
