question to Static Shock cartoon fans


1st let me say yes i've seen the show and loved it (it's what got me into SS) sadly cause of school and work at the time i was only able to see half of it(parts of season 1, little of 2, and half of 3, and very little of 4 ), but thanks to Disney XD i'm getting up to speed on what i've missed over the years (), but when and why did he change/update his look? was there a reason for it or not?

I'm a pretty big fan of the show, but honestly, I can't remember why he changed his threads and I don't remember it being mentioned in the show. I do remember that the intro theme was changed from "Gotta be" to Lil Romeo when he changed his costume.

Static Shock will debut a new costume this year, which has left the fans scratching their heads. McDuffie says the costume change is only natural for a maturing young hero.

"I think the new attitude probably led to the costume change, not the other way around," said McDuffie. "Virgil Hawkins is a year older and that's allowed us to explore some of the darker places in his world. We have more action this year than we've ever had before and we have a number of villains who are adults, so the threats Static faces can be more varied. The costume is a natural outgrowth of all that, as is the new, more naturalistic look of the show. I can't wait for the fans to see what the team has achieved."

I liked the Static cartoon and he could use some more attention somewhere, maybe the Brave and Bold title. John seems like a good idea but I'd rather see Static team up with Wonder Woman and let her know what he thinks of that Amazon ass.

No reason was given but as sylent_asassin wrote it is the evolution of static. I read that they have plans for Static (adult version) to lead a sub group of the justic league after someones death.
