College football definitely needs a playoff system. It's annoying to hear the powers at be make up excuse why the status quo does not need a playoff system.

A four team playoff system will be in effect in two years. They need to expand to eight team playoff system, so that smaller conference teams have an at large bid for the championship.

Small conferences will be damn near gone in 6 years anyway. Notre Dame and the other independents are just waiting for the right offer. If the small conference teams have a problem, then schedule better opponents. If they can't, then join a bigger conference. Nuff said.

Teams like Boise St. would be an afterthought if they played and SEC schedule every week instead of one game a year.
