REVIEW: Earth 2 #22

As we left off last issue, things are not doing so well for the resistance. Which all leads to this single point, how can one defeat The Man of Steel. We’ve seen what an evil Superman is capable, so this story should pretty much be pointless right? Well that’s where you’re wrong fellow reader. Typically an evil Superman has to potential of being steered into a rut if it’s an ongoing basis, but somehow (most likely due to Tom working on Injustice God of Among Us), he has given a somewhat hope to potentially stopping Superman. Do you believe in the Power of Love?

REVIEW: Green Lantern #30

For every war there are phases that occur, which can lead to a better understanding of your opponent. That could either be a bad or good thing depending on the situation presented upon the soldiers. They might understand their viewpoints or they might become even more disgusted due to the actions of past battles. This issue is the eye of hurricane for our fellow Lanterns, since we all know the real fireworks start next month. This will be a moment of reflection for our reluctant leader and his opportunity to push the Lanterns to victory against the Khund Empire and the deadly Durlans.

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #29

The concept of religion has to be one of the most controversial subjects in real life or in science fiction stories. With the recent shift for this particular series it’s only fitting that the idea of Godhood comes into play where the main character has the potential as a God and his companions could be considered Gods themselves. However when it comes to any type of story there are two sides to any conflict which can lead to revelations that could potentially shatter a person of faith. So how exactly does all this mumbo jumbo tie into the latest issue of New Guardians? Well let’s open page one and find out.

So Earth 2 is now under siege from Darkseids forces, the book has morphed from a superhero title to a book that feels more like watching the french resistance in World War II. REVIEW: Green Lantern #29

Now that the crossover with Red Lanterns is over, Green Lantern returns to it’s regularly scheduled program. While the war against The Khund/Durlan alliance is underway, the corps itself hasn’t be able to form a plan of attack and strike back in this war. Combine all this with the recent solicitation release of this storyline all coming to end this may, then the corps might want to start the ball rolling itself. So that’s where the question comes into play. What plan does Hal Jordan in his back pocket or does even have a plan at all? Well let’s crack open page one and find out shall we?

REVIEW: Green Lantern New Guardians #28

Religion is a touchy subject. Religion in a nutshell is supposed to bring peace to the individual and to a larger extent bring peace to a group of people from various back rounds. However as humanity has seen over the centuries, religion has brought conflict. Whether it’s over conflicting ideologies or simply because one person doesn’t have faith and hates the idea of someone else believing in something in their minds can’t exist. What does this have to do with the recent issue of Green Lantern New Guardians? Well everything in fact, as Justin Jordan and Brad Walker take Kyle and friends deeper into the ambiance of the universe.

REVIEW: Green Lantern Corps #28

Do you know what’s scarier than an enemy that looks terrifying? An enemy that you can’t see at all. Well, since the Durlans have made their presence known and in combination with their alliance with the Khund Empire, you have the deadly combination of a strong frontal assault force and the unknown element of the Durlans. So when you are in a war against an enemy who won’t doesn’t appreciate the direct approach, you have to figure out how they think. Luckily for John Stewart and the rest of his squad (deputies included), one such character does exist. He is the Durlan, Von Daggle, former leader of the Green Lantern Corpse aka Black Ops for the Green Lanterns.

REVIEW: Red Lanterns #28

Oh hey look, another review on the same day! Well in case you didn’t realize it from the cover from Green Lantern this week, it also comes packaged along with this months issue of Red Lanterns! So that means 20 pages extra and it contains part two of Red Daughter of Krypton. So this will be the first official review for Red Lanterns that doesn’t involved a line wide crossover. So this will be an interesting adventure as this issue dives into the mythology that Charles Soule continues to build with the Red Lanterns.

REVIEW: Green Lantern #28

First off before I get this underway, I want to apologize for the lack of a review last week. Comics didn’t come out and life got in the way. So it appears that this week you wonderful readers will receive not one but two reviews! The current theme that appears to be running across Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps is “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” We know that the Durlans and the Khund have formed an alliance and  severed communications for the Corps causing all amounts of chaos, and things possibly couldn’t get any worse for the Corps right? Well we’re wrong because of three word, Red Lantern Supergirl.
