Getting to watch those old classics on the big screen is cool enough, but Dave wants his cherry on top of the cake, otherwise it's going in the dogs plate

Surely there has to be a fan edit with music? Surprised the studio's wouldn't try it themselves though.

I've watched some of those movies Eli Roth recommends. I find it hard to call Hardware a horror film, I think it has those elements but it's more of a cyberpunk film to me. Basically this women gets stuck in her apartment with a crazy robot that's trying to kill her, it's set in a dystopian UK. Dust Devil, me and Space cop were discussing that a few pages back, check his review. It's a good watch.

Ichi the Killer that is a Japanese gore film, it's pretty fucked up, if you don't like extreme gore then I would say don't watch it. I know I've said before I don't really like gore porn, Ichi does have a some what interesting story, but it's not something I went back to watch.

Yeah, I keep thinking maybe I'll buy Ichi, but I haven't brought myself to watch it again yet. It makes you think, but it's sick, sick stuff. I also saw Audition and have not watched it again. I guess technically Italian cannibal and zombie movies (from the 70s and 80s) are gorier by proportion, but Miike's stuff is more disturbing.

One of my friends was really into those late 90's early 2000's Japanese horror films at the time. He told me about Audition, but I never got around to watching it, theirs a few others I did watch, but it was enough for me. Theirs one I can't remember the name of it, but one of my other friends said he would only watch it, if I watched it with him as he felt uncomfortable about it, as we watched Ichi together which we both agreed was messed up. I asked what kind of stuff was in it?.........when he told me, I was like naa I'm not watching that, worse than Ichi, I don't need to have that kind of sick shit in my head, even if it's not real.

Talking about cannibals, I'm in two minds about watching Roth's Green Inferno which looks like it's inspired by those same old 70's movies you mentioned. I'm going to wait for your review or another horror thread poster to see if it's more than just gore porn.

I saw James Rolfe's review of Galaxy of Terror a year or two ago, one of his Monster Madness reviews, and holy piss did the worm rape make my jaw hit the floor. I told a coworker about it, and he just had this incredibly confused look on his face.

Gotta buy the DVD soon.

I've got a copy of the 1932 version of The Mummy posted in the Videos forum. It makes great Halloween (or any other day) viewing.

Well, Green Inferno is the name of the movie within the movie of Cannibal Holocaust and from the preview I have to assume it's a remake of that movie, which, by the way, has topped reader surveys of goriest movie of all time.

LOL. I'll stick to the tree rape of Evil Dead. That movie is more entertaining over all, imho. But it's funny, I was watching GoT with a friend and when that scene came up, he said "is that thing having sex with the woman?!?"

Excellent choice.

I'm watching GoT right now.

Well, I can say this. I'm a huge fan of the original trilogy and have been for years (I even have my special-edition DVD signed by 5 people who worked on the movie) and I liked it a lot; enough that I bought it on BD. It's nowhere near as funny, but it's not trying to be. The reason for them getting into the woods and staying as long as they did is more clever than in the original (they're detoxing Ash's sister). The gore is still there and it's a little spookier.

Thanks. I had the original trilogy once upon a time, but I think it got dumped during the horror purge of 2008.

So, I just got done watching Galaxy of Terror.....um, not really sure what to say. Very dark, couldn't make out a thing going on for the most part, the dialogue was beyond silly, and the rape scene....well, I was eating a Hershey's chocolate bar with almonds as I watched it. She had nice boobs. That's about all I can muster.

But what a surprise to find a young Robby Englund! You know, I've always thought he was a handsome guy. He's so cute and adorable.

Hey guys, had an idea-if we are all staying in tomorrow night to watch movies, want to meet in the chat room here around 9pm just to shoot the shit? I;m finishing up the Underworld saga tonight, so I'm going back to my original plan of the 3 Gilly movies. But I would love to hang out as I'm watching them.

Yeah, that film has a strange rep. It's before Englund hit it big with NOES; Cid Haig severely disliked the whole project and asked that his character have as little dialogue as possible; the worm scene; bunch of other stuff I forget.

I had to alter my weekend plans, so I can't: seeing my dad tomorrow instead of Saturday, since Saturday is when I go to a wedding and I know he'll be tired from that.

Not sure if I'll be able to or not. I know I'm watching Trick R Treat with some family at some point. That might end up a horror movie mini-marathon. If it doesn't, I'll try to pop in. Despite my 16,000+ posts and spectre-like eternal presence, I've never done flash chat here (for no good reason).

I didn't know that about Haig. That makes sense. I remember being a half hour or so into it and asking my friend if that character was a mute because I couldn't remember him speaking. Well, that will mark only the second time I've heard of an actor asking for less dialogue (the other being the notorious story behind Vampira's appearance in Plan 9 from Outer Space). Still, of the handful of people I now know who have seen the movie, Agent, you would seem to be the only fan.

Movie was fucking AWESOME. I loved the original trilogy (and I saw Army Of Darkness in the theater during its original run!); I was pretty leery of this remake before seeing it with my friends. Six of us went together, guys that I've been friends with since high school and we all grew up on those movies. We all loved it. And you guys think I'M cranky and critical about movies and comics? My friends poo poo on things even worse than I do an they all thought it was great.

And I just got back from the theater. We went to a Cinemagic to see the first Saw movie for it's 10th anniversary. It was great to see it again, this time in a good theater with GOOD sound. It brought be right back to the first time I saw...Saw. I had been able to stay spoiler free an was blown away by the twist at the end.

I'll be around in the evening to hang with you guys. Saturday is the first day of hunting season so I'm going to try to go to bed early. I'm a night owl so I may not get to sleep as early as I hope.
