Really enjoyed this movie. Very interesting take on the genre. Some of the funniest horror movie deaths I have ever seen. This is going into my list of favorite movies.

Hmm I'd like to know when RE became about mini wars in eastern European countries, story was quite dumb, I think Leon's last line summed the movie up in a nutshell, some decent action towards the end, just seemed like a crap promo for RE6, rather than a good movie.

Sheba Baby (1975)

Not great blaxploitation and Grier seems wooden despite several good roles (including Coffy) under her belt.

Chillerama (2011)

"Things can be replaced. Testicles can't."

A really tasteless and OTT sclock anthology. A few good jokes or moments, but not worth it over all.

Radio Days (1987)

"Mr. Abercrombie: I think you both deserve each other.
Mother: What does that mean?
Father: Look, we didn't come here to be insulted.
Mother: I love him, but what did I do to deserve him?"

Woody Allen at his best---just vignettes from a suburban Jewish family and how they interact with the golden age of wireless.

Wrath of the Titans- Although this was much better than Clash, this was just okay and not something I would watch more than once.

The Man with the Golden Arm (1955)

Sinatra plays a man just out of rehab for heroin addiction who has to deal with his dealer, his old employer (poker game runner) and a manipulative wife despite his desire to become a drummer. Pretty good stuff. Sinatra played cold turkey well. There's a surprisingly sleazy role from Darren McGavin (yep, the Christmas Story dad) as the heroin pusher.

Nothing in Common (1986)

The Town (2010)

Very cool. Taught me a lot about how to rob armored cars.

Play Misty for Me (1971)

For some reason, I can watch teens be hacked up without batting an eye but stalker flicks always disturb me. And this chick was disturbing.

Body of Evidence (1993)

Well, this was almost as bad as people say but I watched it anyway because (1) it was expiring in my Instant Netflix queue and I didn't want to waste the space in the DVD queue; (2) of its reputation.

It had a few good points (yes, Madonna's '93 body was the main one), but most of them were used better in the previous year's Basic Instinct. Actually, the last 5 minutes of the movie ruined what hope it had left by removing every mystery.

Good not great. Gary Oldman was barely in it. Go watch Boardwalk Empire instead.

I watched it again because I was mosty interested in the deleted scenes, and some of them actually do help the movie, most certainly in the beginning and ending scenes.

At the start you see a whole gang of those Engineers by that cliff waterfall, it was some kind of ritual, because they were all dressed like monks, it was those same ones who then left and flew away.

Theirs some other deleted scenes that help develop a few other characters, like the Captain and Vickers, who the latter, you will almost feel for, especially when she reveals Peter Weyland is actually her Dad. This was actually better than the one they used, but I guess they wanted Vickers to be as cold as her father in the end.

The most important change is the last scene where they wake up the last Engineer, he actually SPEAKS! Not English though, but in this you also know exactly what David is saying to him too, the Engineer asks why Weyland wants to live forever? Weyland then explains that he created David and now he too wants to live forever, its then that the Engineer realizes David is not human and then you've seen the rest so to speak, but it was interesting, because the Engineer wasn't exactly mad at the start but those questions pissed him off, although he probably would have killed them all anyway, I think the Engineer is curious, you see more of that in the last scene when he goes after Rapace, that scene is way longer too and the Engineer spends a few seconds looking a human objects and a video playing on the screen.

It's also revealed that the Engineers home planet is called Paradise, which might explain why that is the rumoured title for part 2.

Brick (2005)

"Laura: Do you trust me now?
Brendan: Less than when I didn't trust you before."

Great. If I had known what this was I would've watched it way before now. Basically, this takes the major tropes of film noir/gumshoe movies and sets them in a modern high school. The Slade-eque protagonist is played by Joseph Gordon-Levit who gets a mysterious phone call from his ex that she's in trouble. This leads him on an investigation through the crime rackets or the HS and town. The cool part is that they talk in noir-esque snappy dialogue and witty comebacks, which makes it surreal and sometimes funny despite the serious plot elements (people die). It's not a parody---JGL doesn't wear a fedora and talk about dames with gams that won't quit. It just uses those story elements/style in a different setting.

Highly recommended.

Scorpion Kinng 2 (2008)

Direct-to-DVD sequel. About at level of the Hercules 90s TV movies.
====================================

Alien Girl (2010)

A Russian mob boss plans to keep a witness/hit man silent by holding his sister (whom he had exiled to Prague) hostage but she has other plans.

The Majestic (2001)

"The good guy should win."

Ip Man 2: Legend of the Grandmaster (2010)

Certainly the fights were amazing, but the acting itself was just wonderful. Donnie Yen and Sammo Hong both conveyed martial arts masters who were passionate not only for their styles but also for their basic human dignity.

Highly recommend.

Brick was great! I saw it a few years ago, but I think I'll watch it again today.

Just saw this for the second time. It was a pretty fun movie. It you're into action.

Ip Man (2008)

Donnie Yen plays Wing Chun master Ip Man, who is considered the best martial artist in Foshan. When the Japanese invade and things become hard, he gets a job working the mines, but takes to beating the piss out of the Japanese soldiers when a fellow master is murdered.

Pretty good fights with plenty of comedic effect (though the film is overall very serious in tone). You need to have subs on when watching, because the dubs DO NOT cover the Japanese at any point nor do they cover the on-screen text that explain unseen events.

I never saw this movie until today, and I loved it. Didn't Brandon Lee commit suicide before the movie was released?

Not quite, he was killed in an on-set accident before the film's completion.
