Now that's an excellent idea. I could see a Punisher show on HBO being great. You don't have to worry about an R-Rating and, like you said, they could show better character devolvement. All they need is the right producer/writer/and star. I realize you prefer Ray Stevenson, but would you be against Thomas Jane returning?

I agree the action in War Zone was good, but I had a problem with Frank killing an FBI agent (or whatever he was) and Jigsaw acting like a bad Joker impersonation from the 1989 Batman (They even copied a scene from that film. They might as well as had Jigsaw say "Wait till they get a load of me"). I never cared much for Micro in the comics, but Wayne Knight did a fairly decent job. Overall, I still feel the Thomas Jane film is better, although like I said they have never made a "true" Punisher film. It's a shame really, because if done correctly, I feel like The Punisher could be a franchise.

I sure am. Marvel tried to buy the rights to the Mack Bolan series, but Don Pendleton wouldn't sell to them. If I remember correctly, on the first release of the DVD of the Thomas Jane Punisher film, they mention in the origin of The Punisher comic that they were even using the name The Executioner originally. I am a big fan of both The Punisher and the Mack Bolan series, so it doesn't really bother me that they ripped it off. But if you read some of The Executioner books, you can tell they copied allot of it for The Punisher. I feel they never really made a "true" Punisher film. The closest, IMO, is the Thomas Jane film, but it still is not exactly what I think a Punisher film should be. Sadly, we will probably never see one, since War Zone was a bomb at the box office. Have you read any of the Mack Bolan books? I like them so much, I have over a 100 of them. The audio books, which are more like radio plays since they have different actors doing the voices and sound effects, are excellent as well.

Don't hate me for this (if you don't already know), but did you know Marvel ripped off The Punisher's character? Have you seen all three Punisher movies?

I take it that's The Punisher in your sig. I've been reading that comic since the early 90s.
