Below you&#8217;ll find another look at the character, this time provided by artist Rags Morales. You may find it a bit similar to the<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/11bvyG9\"> first time we showed off Rags on GL<\/a>.\u00a0Relic\u2019s origin will be told across three months of black-and-white pencil variant covers by artist Rags Morales, which will span all Green Lantern family books.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i37.tinypic.com\/dpxqmp.jpg\" width=\"575\" height=\"892\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen you very first encounter him, he will be a fully formed menace, but you will get the backstory of how he got to be that way,\u201d said Venditti. \u201cHe\u2019s a completely new character not based on any pre-existing character.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Each of the Morales\u2019 variant covers that will span issues 21, 22 and 23 of all the Green Lantern books will offer up \u201cnew clues\u201d to who Relic is and why he opposes the Lanterns. Moreover, Relic is not a Lantern Jordan-specific villain; instead, Venditti promises he will \u201ctie together every Lantern of every color that has ever appeared in any comic book ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Venditti adds the character\u2019s storyline, which more or less spreads across five months, picks up the story thread where Johns left off and takes it to its \u201cnext logical step.\u201d That thread also picks up right away in the opening pages of #21, with a \u201chuge action set piece\u201d in \u201cGreen Lantern\u201d 21 and 22 that involves \u201cvarious antagonists.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Relic\u2019s story will \u201chave a bow tied on him\u201d by the end of the storyline, but Venditti says that doesn\u2019t mean the character won\u2019t be usable in the future.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat we have in mind for Relic will be a self-contained thing, but we already know what we\u2019re doing after that, so we\u2019ll be moving on to that next story.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; After a glimpse of the character last week, MTV Geek talks with the upcoming Green Lantern writer Robert Venditti about his new villain named Relic.
