Take this with a giant, no scratch that, massive mountain of salt. News on any DC Entertainment movie is hard to come by, but apparently Cosmic Book News have a source within the company that has details on the Green Lantern movie sequel script and even casting replacement. \u00a0And no its not Blake Lively.<\/p>\n

Let’s start with a recap. We’ve known for a while now that Michael Green and Greg Berlanti were working on the script for GL2<\/a>, and Michael Goldenberg was to rewrite. Then we were told that Goldenberg was working on “Wonder Woman”<\/a> with no word on progress for the lantern movie. And of course, “Gangster Squad” writer Will Beall is handling the “Justice League” movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, and again please take this as a major rumor, but here are some main points of interest from the stuck in the development sequel script:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2022 Most of the film is set in space.<\/p>\n

\u2022 At the start of the film, Hal Jordan and\u00a0Sinestro\u00a0are paired to stop an intergalactic serial killer,\u00a0Arkillo, who\u00a0Sinestro\u00a0later frees to join his Corps and restore order to the universe.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Sinestro’s\u00a0decision to leave the Corps is mainly due to his distrust of the Guardians and the fact he feels that the universe laughs at the\u00a0Green\u00a0Lanterns. Sinestro feels that a new Corps should replace them.<\/div>\n

\u2022 Sinestro visits Warworld to recruit members to his new Corps.\u00a0Sinestro\u00a0frees\u00a0Amon\u00a0Sur and recruits him to his new Corps.<\/p>\n

\u2022 There is a reference to\u00a0Amon\u00a0Sur’s previous attempt to destroy the Corps, which happened in\u00a0Green\u00a0Lantern: Rise of the\u00a0Manhunters videogame<\/a>.<\/div>\n

\u2022 Carol Ferris is kidnapped by\u00a0Sinestro\u00a0to draw Hal Jordan to him.<\/div>\n

\u2022 Jordan requests that the Guardians deploy the entire Corps to\u00a0Korugar\u00a0to rescue Carol and defeat\u00a0Sinestro’s\u00a0Corps, but they deny his request. He subsequently makes a plea to the Corps via transmission of his ring. Several hundred respond and encounter\u00a0Sinestro’s\u00a0fledging Corps in a battle above\u00a0Korugar.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2022 Hal,\u00a0Kilowog\u00a0and\u00a0Tomar-Re\u00a0use the large battle taking place above\u00a0Korugar as a distraction to sneak to the surface of the planet to rescue Carol. There, they are confronted by\u00a0Sinestro,\u00a0Arkillo\u00a0and\u00a0Amon\u00a0Sur. Hal and\u00a0Sinestro\u00a0evenly match each other, while\u00a0Kilowog\u00a0defeats\u00a0Arkillo, and\u00a0Tomar-Re defeats Amon\u00a0Sur before they rescue Carol.<\/div>\n

\u2022 The battle between the two Corps ends with the\u00a0Sinestro\u00a0Corps retreating due to the majority having little experience with the ring.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 There is a foreshadowing to the third film with a discussion by the Guardians mentioning that a “War of Light” is coming.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It would be very interesting to see these things come to light. Hell, it would be interesting to see WB try again but I’m extremely skeptical of these rumors. Especially this final one that says they’re looking to replace the former Kilowog voice Michael Clarke Duncan, who passed away earlier this year<\/a>, with Green Lantern: The Animated Series version of Kilowog Kevin Michael Richardson.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
