John Who? A fourth movie is in production right now for release in 2007, all-CGI.

~ NEW TMNT VIDEO GAME : TMNT 3D ( cancelled )
It has been about six years since the release of the last TMNT video game. Though little is known about the new one aside from the fact that Konami, Inc. (developers of the previous eleven installments) will not be developing it, the forthcoming N64 or PSX TMNT game from Playmates Interactive Entertainment will likely (but not definitely) be based on the Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation TV series, as Playmates currently handles the NT:TNM line of toys. It was said to be tentatively scheduled to ship "3rd Quarter" of 1998 in the July issue of PSM (obviously B.S.). Now a late 98 issue of PSM cites TMNT 3D once again. See the PIE site here for any updates, and my video game section here. The current status of the project is in question, but is reported by Dan Berger to be possibly in the works. Unfortunately, a PIE Consumer Service rep stated there are "no plans for a TMNT game at this time." Molly Bode of Mirage Studios informed that their contract with Playmates Interactive is over, plus now it seems PIE itself has gone belly up (though sources indicate Rocker Games picked up the title at one point... to do absolutely nothing with it). Don't hold your breath for this game.

~ TMNT GRAPHIC NOVEL BY KEV & PETE IN THE WORKS? ( cancelled? )
At the WonderCon comic convention in northern California, Kevin Eastman informed fans on April 17, 1999 of a 60-70 page TMNT graphic novel he would be doing with Peter Laird immediately following Kevin's involvement with Heavy Metal II: FAKK2. Whether this project would come through Erik Larsen's studio of Image Comics or directly from Mirage Publishing is unknown, but it seems TMNT will not fade into the shadows so easily quite yet. Meeting Kevin Eastman at the San D Con 99, Eastman confirmed that he and Laird both want to do it, and the project will likely end up becoming some kind of crossover with a character(s) from another company.

~ NINJA TURTLES: THE NEXT MUTATION - THE ANIMATED SERIES?
Kevin Eastman created this rumor himself from the 1998 San Diego Comic Convention. In an E-mail dated 12/24/98, Michael Dooney of Mirage has adamantly said no animated TMNT show is in the works, though little is known about it at this point. To see an alleged animation cell of it, click here.

~ GAMEBOY TMNT GAMES TO BE RE-RELEASED
The three Gameboy Konami installments of TMNT ("Fall of the Foot Clan," "Back from the Sewers," and "Radical Rescue") are being re-issued by Konami. In addition, a company called Majestic Sales is re-issuing TMNT IV on SNES and TMNT: Tournament Fighters on Genesis.

It’s coming!

~ NINJA TURTLES: THE NEXT MUTATION COMIC BOOK
In a chat, Kevin Eastman announced plans to put out a new comic series based on Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation. Who would publish it is unknown, but it is possible (though unlikely, according to Molly Bode) Archie Comics could do the series. No release date is known. The cancellation (until further notice... but it is final presently) of NT:TNM more than likely scrapped this project.
