Okay, so part three begins with tremendous excitement and tremendous sadness. But first the excitement!!!

Word is
that DC Comics big players buried themselves into the future workings of the company and some things (like Geoff Johns/Jim Lee JLA) were reinforced. And now from that, we get the information that Flash:Rebirth artist ETHAN VAN SCIVER may be working on a Wonder Woman title with Grant Morrison!

I actually let out a yelp as I was typing that onto twitter. Funny thing is that even though I gave Ethan a hard time with the EXTREMELY long delays on Flash: Rebirth, I do not give a fuck how long it takes him to get issues done. Give me three issues a year for the next 7 years and I'll be fine.

Now word is also saying that there's a catch. That Wonder Woman may be more like Morrison's Batman and Robin where Frank Quitely launches the title, does the covers for every issue but only bookends the series. Giving Ethan 3 or 4 issues to start the series and bringing in various other artists to complete other arcs until Ethan has issues to release. Hopefully that won't be the case. I'd much rather have the JHWilliams approach and just delay the book until we can get some full on Ethan Van Sciver art month after month! If Jim can do it, Ethan can! You don't hear people complaining about Batwoman's missing book now that they have that beautiful art huh?

Unfortunately, here's the tremendous disappointment. When asked for comment, Ethan said that he hasn't chosen his next project after Flash: Rebirth. Now, knowing what I think know about DC officie politics, I'm pretty sure this is a power play by Van Sciver. Not saying this has everything to do with his contract ending in February but its certainly got to have something to do with it. There's no way he doesn't know what's next. He's had the same options for the entire year. FACT.

FACT #2: Ethan Van Sciver does not want to go back to Marvel and he won't. So its DC Comics or some lucky indie publisher is going to be really really surprised come March.

I've got to say, I'm super excited regardless of Ethan's comments. Hell, you read the last two posts. I don't need Ethan to be excited or happy with the series. Here's hoping Ethan IS on board and the series won't take after Batman and Robin in terms of scheduling.
