Let me be honest for a moment. This was a terrible week for comics(at least for me). Great for my wallet but terrible in terms of quality books. That being said, BoP #125 wasn't bad at all. This book isn't on my pull list and I didn't buy it. It was a recommendation from a fellow customer in the LCS who decided to share his BoP issue after I talked trash about how they consist of the worst of DC's female heroism.
Again, terrible week for comics, so imagine my face when I finished my books this week and thought, my best book...wasn't my book. That sucks, and the worst part is that I can't re-read the damn thing. I won't bother giving you a summary but I will say, if you're not up on your Birds of Prey game...This is a pretty good jumping on point. Nothing major has happened(besides no Batman
) in this book of late(or so I was told), so coming into this arc wasn't a hard transition at all. PICK THIS BOOK UP, if you are at least a tiny bit interested in Black Canary or Oracle. The art isn't great but the writing definitely makes up for that, and...I think I want to read the upcoming Oracle mini now...shit. Final Rating: 3.9/5
Other Books This Week:
Batman and the Outsiders #14- 2/5 (I took a chance on this issue because of the great cover and interesting solicit. TERRIBLE. I hated it, and...I'll save my rant for a blog post. Fuck it, its not worth it.)
Robin #181- 3/5 (General opinion of this story arc is that Fabian needs to get rid of his narration boxes and let the art speak. I fucking agree 110%. Shit is annoying reading cursive in such small boxes)
Supergirl #36- 3/5 (Nothing happened. I was bored but it wasn't bad)
Thor: God Sized #1- 2.9/5 (Just disappointed me. I had high expectations for Fraction.)
