Back again for Wally's Pick of the Week! In case you don't know, this is where I pick MY favorite comic book issue of the week out of all my books. This week, it was pretty easy but that doesn't mean that the other books suck(as you'll see below). With that being said, this weeks pick is Final Crisis #5.

I'm sure by now, you've read my praising comments in the Final Crisis #5 thread, and because of that thread, I'm tired of talking about this book. It was amazing, it was the best book I've read since Batman #681. Here are my thoughts just a few moments after reading FC#5:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Comic book orgasm! If this issue doesn't define DOOM, I don't know what does. Even with the last page with the Dark Monitor, I was left thinking that there is ZERO hope for Earth. Darkseid has been written very well. I fucking loved his speech, that gave me goosebumps. I have never been so interested as to what was going to happen next...Its predictable and not predictable at the same time. There are so many ways Final Crisis can end, but with Darkseid finally bringing on the Fifth World, who's to say its going to end well. There is a lot of shit going on around the DCU that I can't honestly tell who the final hero will be. And Alan Scott! I thought this was it for him, I thought he was a goner, but Hawkman nailed the heroic entrance! There were so many great moments that were amazing. It felt like a huge superhero doomsday movie! The Mary Marvel/Supergirl crash was done terrifically! The Motherboxx rubix cube was done just as well, and I love seeing Roy Harper and JS in action. Just nice to know if my favorite characters are justifiers or not. The Battle of Bludhaven is looking more and more epic with every issue, that looks to be the final stand. All over the globe though there is a chance for resistance, with Renee and the Checkmate droids, Mr. Terrific and the J-Heroes(who probably have some Life equation painted on their faces, lol) and Batman has apparently defeated the Lump, not to mention the ultimate x-factor, Superman. I'm so pissed that I have to wait till the second week of January for the next issue!
LOL. Needless to say, I was pretty excited. I've re-read this issue either two or three times so far. Which is pretty tame, but I have finals right now. Back to the book; Amazing. Did I say that already? The only real reserves I have about the issue is that it didn't feature anything truly action packed. I loved Black Adams tackle of Mary Marvel(Shouldn't she be renamed? Mary Marvel seems so innocent), and I loved Mary's grind on Freddie, lol. I actually had to spend an entire minute on that panel, making sure that was her crotch over his chest and not anything else, lol. Interesting move...Also, did anyone else catch that Libra and the villains are going to rape Supergirl? At least thats what popped into my mind after reading that line...As I wrap this up, I'd like to reiterate that those scenes at Bludhaven are FUCKING INCREDIBLE! There I'm done...

Final Rating: 5/5

Other Books This Week:

Secret Invasion: Dark Reign #1(what a stupid title.)- 3/5

Final Crisis:Revelations #4- 3.5/5(Highly disappointed in this)
