Sorry people but no recommendations this week(Go see "The Family That Preys"). But I do have l bunch of tidbits on upcoming movies....

That being said...I have found info on WB's plans for the new Superman movie...or should I say movieS. Comic book writer Mark Millar (Wanted) revealed his plans for a new trilogy of Superman films, which he would like to be shot back-to-back. Here is what Mark had to say:

“A director approached me about three months ago,” ...."and he said ‘look, [Bryan Singer's] The Man Of Steel might not be happening. If that doesn’t happen, it has been spoken about the possibility of me coming in, would you like to write it?’ And I was like Yeah.”
he goes on to say:

I’ve had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a big Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story. And hopefully release them one year after another,” continued Millar. “If it works out, we’ll have to start shooting next summer.”
HELLS YEA!! I've never been so excited for a Superman movie(or anything) more than this. Not to mention that Mark said the director is a "BIG DEAL" and that he won't direct it unless Mark writes it. Let's hope WB puts money where this rumor is...

Moving on...Earlier this week(maybe last) Writer Aaron Sorkin (Charlie Wilson’s War, Studio 60) has joined Facebook. More importantly, he’s created a Facebook group where it’s announced he's penning a FACEBOOK MOVIE. I know this isn't my WTF series...but seriously WTF!!!!! Aaron said following...(on Facebook of course)

“I’ve just agreed to write a movie for Sony and producer Scott Rudin about how Facebook was invented. I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I’ve started this page.
Moving on to even smaller tidbits...there are a bunch of scripts being written everyday so when I see a stupid title it bothers me not, but when I see potential franchise or huge over hyped piece of shit titles, I tell the world.

Such as today, I get my advanced copy of Production Weekly and come to find out that a script has been turned in for a (wait for it.....)

Dracula Vs. King Arthur Movie...Wow...all I can say to that is..

Keeping it classy, I must move on...I also found that there is a sequel() in the making...what movie this time? The Strangers 2. To counter that sequel, I'll tell you some small updates about movies already announced. Both Voltron: Defender of the Universe and Robotech have been pushed full speed ahead into pre-production with Voltron being sited as a 2010 release.

Oh, for those Marvel fans out there...THOR has OFFICIALLY started Pre-Production as of last month, and rumor has it(my own sources throughout the biz) that a director will be named by mid-October. Also, for my classic lovers and all my old heads...a live action JETSONS movie is currently in early developments(meaning the script is being written).

There is a lot of movies in this issue that may not ever be made, so...its unfortunate that I leave with the news that the 3rd "Meet the Parents" movie(yes another one, though I loved the 2nd more than the first) will be called "Meet The Little Fockers". If any of this is old news, then I'm sorry but its hard getting news from Tallahassee Florida...
