R.I.P. Paul Walker.

I don't recall so many social media tributes since the death of Steve Jobs.

TMZ reports: Paul Walker -- Death Car May Have Malfunctioned

Quote:
The exotic sports car in which Paul Walker violently died, crashed as a result of mechanical failure -- very possibly a steering fluid leak ... this according to sources closely tied to the auto shop where the vehicle was stored and maintained.

Sources connected to Always Evolving -- the shop co-owned by Walker and the Porsche driver Roger Rodas -- tell TMZ they saw evidence of a fluid burst and subsequent fluid trail before the skid marks at the accident scene.

The AE sources point to the fact there is a noticeable absence of skid marks until just before the point of impact. They say if Roger had lost control the skid marks would show swerving, but instead the marks were in a straight line. They feel this cements the theory the driver didn't have steering control.

Also suspicious -- the fire spreading so quickly in the front of the car. The sources say flames would be expected in the rear where the engine is ... but fire in the front reinforces their theory of a fluid leak of some sort.

To hell with fired, you can get another job. Can you imagine having to live with knowing you overlooked something that killed somebody? Much less somebody that millions of people adored?

http://www.polygon.com/2013/12/3/517...lls-dies-at-72

The actor who portrayed Luigi in the live-action and animated television series The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, Danny Wells, died last month in Toronto, Ont., according to an obituary posted at the Montreal Gazette.

Wells, whose real name was Jack Westelman, portrayed Luigi in the show's live-action segments and voiced the character in animated segments. His onscreen brother, Mario, was portrayed by "Captain Lou" Albano, who died in 2009 at the age of 76.

The original run of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, which consisted of 65 episodes, aired between September and December 1989. The show featured Wells and Albano appearing in live-action segments before and after cartoons based on Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. Each episode, the Mario Bros. were joined by guest stars, including Magic Johnson, Sgt. Slaughter, Cyndi Lauper, Vanna White, Rowdy Roddy Piper and more.

Episodes of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! are available on DVD and instant video. Netflix offers 24 episodes for instant streaming.

In addition to Wells' appearances as Luigi, the actor had roles in a number of memorable '80s television shows, including The A-Team and The Jeffersons. Wells also did voice work in the games Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Wizardry 8 and Descent 3, according to his IMDB filmography.

I don't know... Reports say that the driver was going 90+ mph in a 45 mph zone. If the driver was travelling at a safe speed, this may not have happened, even with the malfunction.

The wreckage looks like someone stuck a tree in the middle of a scrap heap.

the person who wrote that obit *must* be under 30, to have used his role as "Luigi" in a show that lasted only 1 season as the main referrence, instead of his much longer tenure as "Charlie the barman" on The Jeffersons........ SMDH

All of the articles I found mentioned him as the actor who played Luigi first and foremost.

Also the show didn't last one season, it actually lasted three, only Wells didn't come back.

Yo.

those articles likely did so cuz they all got their info from the same source; fair enuff about the length of the show, however his tenure on it (as well as its TOTAL broadcast run) still makes my point.

and besides: who calls The Jeffersons an 80s show anyways?

It's just the article. Most people who wrote them, probably were lazy when they made the articles.
