I have a question, is the prestige format DC offers currently the same as the one we had when we were kids? For example Green Arrow Longbow Hunters 3 part mini series or History of the DC Universe 2 parter? Or is it now something different using the old name?

Current Prestige is normal floppy size but squarebound with cardstock covers.

The Prestige Plus format is also squarebound with cardstock covers but is bigger: 8.5" by 10.875"

I have no idea what you had when you were a kid because I'm 29.

It's bigger. It's basically magazine format.

Here's a comparison photo:

JLA/WildC.A.T.S. is the old prestige format. Batman Damned and Superman Year One are the new one.

Batman: Damned and Superman: Year One are Prestige Plus though. DC still uses the normal Prestige as well.

Thanks for the photo, Michael. That's a good example to explain.

Yeah, I see from the solicits that the trades are going to be normal sized. Since they're not in the same dimensions, I wonder how they scale them. White bars? However they do it, that's the way I want them.

Trades won't be normal size, Amazon has Batman: Damned and Superman: Year One hardcovers at: 8.8 x 11.2 inches.

That's bigger than DC's deluxe edition hardcover format: 7.5 x 11.2 inches and their normal hardcover format: 6.9 x 10.5 inches.

^Crap, you're right. Those won't fit in my box.
Don't know where/how I thought I saw the normal specs. That pretty much blows my plan to wait until the trades for the ones I was most interested in.

I don't know about that: Marvel has been trying to woo in readers w/feminist sensibilities for a few years now with various character swaps & pushes (Iron Heart for Iron Man, Squirrel Girl & her alt-lifestyle friends, Killing off Moon Boy for Moon Girl.....), and considering how much buzz the company has got behind'em due to the movies being MEGA-POPULAR Ive yet to see much (or any really, but that's my own viewpoint) of their efforts along those lines really take off in popularity.....

Yo.

in the current day....granted, I'll give ya that. but the idea of "a child and 'something pretty dangerous' as a pet/friend" - comic idea has been defunct for longer than *he's* been dead, so it just seems kinda much to re-intro (more like "dig up from the basement of basement", really) the character just to VIOLENTLY kill him off in a few pages for this kinda of story dynamic..... IMNSHO, of course. :/
