Ryan Reynolds Still Has "No Idea" on Green Lantern Sequel

While talking with IGN about another comic book character, Deadpool, actor Ryan Reynolds was also asked about a potential Green Lantern sequel happening. Reynolds had very little to say but hinted that the studio has to make big budget decisions and that ultimately will be the deciding factor on a GL sequel. Read his statement below and watch the Deadpool stuff here, if you're into that kind of stuff.

Quote:
IGN: And number 2 on the list, is Green Lantern. Now what would be the chances of that happening again?

Ryan Reynolds: I have no idea. I have no idea. You know, those movies have huge scaled budgets and those kinds of things. Personally...working in that budget world on that kind of level is not as much fun. There's just so much investment in the outcome and you can't have a lot of fun.

Why is Ryan still in the dark about a sequel? Even we, the lowly fans know there won't be one.

Sounds like a guy putting some distance between him and GL. He says big budgets movies aren't fun. Maybe that's a way of hinting that he wouldn't have fun doing another one.

No, we don't. We surmise it based on good evidence.

What, the special effects may have been bad, but I think it was a solid movie. You want to know another thing that's annoid me? The Artist has got about 10,000 oscars. Come on, a silent movie about French people, and yet a solid, enjoyible movie with realy impresive CGI effects (i'm talking about you ghost rider: spirit of vengance) got nothing but disaproval from twats like Alex Zane. What has happened to the people?

I heard that Spirit of Vengeance was one of the worst movies and sequels of the year.

Alex Navarro of Screened enjoyed it as a stupid funny film.

The Oscars aren't voted on by "the people." That's the people's choice awards. AMPAS is comprised of a large group of filmmakers who are sent tapes of hundreds of movies and vote on their favorites.

I'm a little disappointed that they were all "technical" awards (I think?). Though the movie WAS technically impressive. I just hoped it could have snagged one of the "prestige" awards, though I'm not even sure how many (if any) of them it was nominated for.

(Just for the record, Hugo was my favorite film of the past year. And EASILY the best 3D film I've ever seen.)

Best Picture, best adapted Screenplay, and Best Director, as far as the eye can see. Just be thankful it wasn't a repeat of Slumdog millionare, when that film nearly won every award.

You are so F-ing wrong! It was absolutely fantastic! It was fast going though, but that's how I like it! It was action packed dude! It's only little snotty twats like Alex Zane who think it was crap, but he's wrong! Don't take notice of what the critics say, they're the people who gave films like the kings speach and the artist good reviews.

You really are a walking 90's cliche, aren't you?

I don't know you from a hole in a wall, so I'll continue to trust the opinions of people I know. No offense.

The King's Speech WAS a good movie, though. May not have been your thing, but that doesn't make it bad.

I loved The King's Speech and everyone I know who has seen it liked it.

Hey, what's wrong with the 90s? And no offence taken.

I don't know if you should watch it. It depends on whether action-packed is just your FAVORITE kind of movie, among other things you enjoy, or if action-packed is pretty much exclusively what you look for in a movie.

The King's Speech is not action-packed by any stretch of the imagination. It has some humor, some drama, interesting personalities, and excellent acting, along with the fact that it is based on actual events (which is a selling point for some, and a warning sign for others).

I don't know enough about you to know if you would appreciate it, or simply fall asleep. Everybody's different.

But what about taking notice what general movie goers like us say:
- It received a C+ CinemaScore from audiences which is very poor
- Of the 30,500 Rotten Tomatoes audience members who rated the movie only 35% liked it.
- It currently has a 5.1 on IMDb

All signs point to the movie being crap. Sorry, you may have liked it but you're certainly in the minority.
