Default I pity the fool that doesn't go see The A-Team!

Just got back from the midnight showing....

Holy shit did I enjoy this movie.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that it was flawlessly written, directed or acted... but just as I said about Iron Man 2....

IT WAS SO MUCH FUCKING FUN!!!

I left the theatre wanting to see the sequel.

Great casting. Great fun.

GREAT 'splosions.

How true to the tv show is it? I saw the "tank parachuting from a plane" scene in the trailer and found it cool, but completely out of tone with the original series.

I'm going to rent it. The reviews haven't been so hot, and even Mr. T himself wasn't keen on it.

I'm going Tuesday. Fun is exactly what I am looking for in this movie, so I hope I end up agreeing with you, Naysay.

I'm going to see it. I wasn't real excited for it, because, yay, another remake. But I really liked the trailer...it actually made me nostalgic. And all I've heard is good from the people I know...

From what I've heard, it sounds like your typical Popcorn flick, leave your brain at the door fun. I was never a big fan of the original A-Team so I'll probably wait for DVD on this.

Not sure if I'll see in the theater, even though it was a fan of the original tv series. I actually remember the priemere episode, as it was shown after a Super Bowl. I humming the theme song in my head right now.

Has anyone seen the A-Team movie toys? They are scary looking.

I never really watched the show (I wasn't allowed to watch violent shows... stupid hippies) so I can't speak to that.

What I enjoyed about the movie was the relationships, the 'splosions and the villains.

It's kind of like a buddy flick... but with 4 buddies instead of 2.

And the bad guys and supporting cast in the film are great...

fuck it's just fun.

Sylent_assasin hit the nail on the head... it's a popcorn flick... but it's everything you want out of a popcorn flick.

Funny, endearing, exciting, not too complicated but not too dumb....

I read the LA Times review of it this morning and they did what every annoying fucking liberal rag does... they send their snooty "legitimate film" critic to review it and he walks out shaking his head thinking "my goodness what has society come to when people want to watch morons shooting at each other and cracking jokes for 2 hours."

Well FUCK YOU Kenneth Turan. You're SIXTY FOUR FUCKING YEARS OLD. This movie wasn't made for you. It's not "art". It's mindless, FUCKING AWESOME, entertainment.

I'm starting to really hate the L.A. Times.

I may catch this on a matinee tomorrow. It depends if my wife goes out with her friends. Otherwise, I might end up seeing Letters to Juliet.

That's snooty in and of itself.

From what I've heard, it's a so-so movie across the board. Acting, story, effects, cinematography, everything. Doesn't matter if it's "art" or a "popcorn flick" (which nowadays means piece of shit movie). I'll rent it, because ticket prices are too damned expensive these days to waste on an average film.

How is it snooty to recognize that the movie wasn't made to appeal to 64 year old film critics?

The A-Team is the equivalent of the KFC Double Down.

Nobody in there right mind is going to sit there and defend it as being "good"... but only an asshole would give a serious review of it as if it were presenting itself as such.

This movie has a fucking scene where four guys escape an exploding military plane (that they STEAL) by getting into a tank.... and then plummet into a lake and not only SURVIVE... but manage to destroy two unmanned drones that are sent to kill them.

This movie was never about quality of acting or cinematography or directing or story. It's about outrageous scenarios and blowin' shit up in the name of the good ole' US of A.

That's not. Dismissing his dissenting opinion based on his age and perceived "liberal bias" of his employer is.

Hi.

I'm Dr. Naysay.

From time to time I like to use hyperbole and gratuitous insults and profanity to make my point. I do this mainly because it amuses me to no end.

Syfy (time has passed and the rebranding still makes me want to rip eyeballs out) Originals are fanfuckingtastic.

As for A-Team, it didn't tickle my fancy. I don't know why, but Bradley Cooper just pisses me off.

Naysay, you should check out Shoot 'em Up. I think you'd really enjoy it.

Now we're talking! I was the first one at work to say that I wanted to see this movie, I might have time this afternoon once my homework is done. I saw the previews when I watched Prince of Persia last week-end and knew I was going to see it while it was still in the theaters.

I saw quite a few previews that looked pretty good. I also agree that the opinions of a "movie critic" about any movie is like the sound of an electric fan... after awhile you don't hear it any longer or you just turn it off.

I
FUCKING
LOVE
Shoot 'em Up!!!

I guess my take on this would be that The A-Team wasn't a true "action movie"... it's a buddy/road movie with action in it.

Shoot 'Em Up is an unabashed action movie.

Wow. I agree with Naysay about something

A-Team was was the perfect summer film - laugh-out-loud, huge explosions, buddy-movie, goodness. It was never made to win any awards except for over-the-top film of the year.

Leave your brain at the door and just enjoy it. It's totally worth seeing.

And "Shoot 'Em Up" was awesome
