Default Amazons Attack conclusion?

Anything noteworthy happen in it? In retrospect on all 6 issues, is it worth collecting?

Here's what I've gathered :

Wonder Woman confronts Circe, Hippolyta defends the sorceress. (Batman has weilded a spell given to him by Zatanna that renders Circe powerless for one hour.) Wonder Woman confronts her mother about the decisions she has made. Since Circe is powerless, Hippolyta is no longer under anyone else's influence: her decisions are her own. Hippolyta throws down her weapon.

Athena appears, displeased with what the Amazons have done and prepared to pass judgment. Circe is banished to Hades. Themyscria rises from the ocean. The Amazons disappear to parts unknown. Hippolyta rules over an empty Themyscria.

Athena watches events unfold, with the Greek gods in chains behind her. On the final page of the series, it is revealed that Granny Goodness has imprisoned the Greek gods, incapacitated Athena, and stolen her identity.

Yeah, seems pretty ignorable.

And Supergirl and Wonder Girl attack Airforce One bring it down try to kidnap the president and... well they said they're sorry so now its ok.

Seriously what the hell. They both commited a terrorist act and Cassie at least (who's an American citizen) commited treason.

I don't care how sorry they are how are they not in prison?

I peeked at the Wonder Woman forum on the DC boards and it seems like pretty much everyone is ripping the mini-series a new one. Seems like I can comfortably not collect this one.

So is Athena really Goodness in Countdown ? Not that I really care but with all the things happening in the DCU I have no idea where anything fits in (see my numerous complaint posts on the Continuity errors in Countdown with regards to GL and the Sin Corps War)

Hmm, I don't know where the reveal of Granny G. in Amazons fits into Countdown, and trying to figure it out makes the back of my eyes hurt. I'm sick of the year long events - and the myriad of tie-ins. Let me re-phrase, year long events are fine, just as long as there is not an issue a week, I'm just plain ol' sick of it. 12 issues max, keep the story tight, and not this mish-mash of ridiculous shit. Never want to give props to Marvel, but at least Civil War extra crap (all the tie-ins, etc, are self contained in some respects, and they don't go INTENTIONALLY out of their way to disregard continuity). The biggest problem I think with the multiyear, issue a week events is that they try to please too many fans. Mary Marvel (huge fan base??), The Amazon plot (who cares imho), Jimmy Olsen (keep it in Superman methinks), And the "ex-sidekicks and replacements who used to be dead" quest which seems like a long WoW quest with no gold at the end, which should be what the storyline should probably focus on in of itself.

Now I'm just rambling, gonna shut up now -

Well I doubt that ALL of the New Gods die - and this would be an essenstial piece of story since we know Darksied is playing some kind of cosmic chess game I could see him using Granny in the form of Athena as a Bishop or Knight in his game

So I think it will matter to the story line

I can see now that the only thing i'm gonna like about countdown is the little stories and origins at the end of each book

Really because I felt that both the Slade orgin and the Parallax orgins where kind of just thrown together at the last minute.

I wouldn't say thrown together but i think its not enough pages to tell a good origin.(the slade sleeping with terra panel was funny)
The multiverse origin was good for about 2 issues than it turned into reruns.
hope it gets better but it won't.

I know zero about Slade's history other than he is an assassin that, for a time, was a good guy and I (the general audiance these are geared to, i.e. those who don't know shit about the character) was completely lost in this origin.
