What do you guys think of this? Is this old concept art from the 2011 movie just getting rehashed?

Nevermind, it has to be. Pic was too good.

Looks like Pine is going to the Wonder Woman film:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...der-woman-deal

The Green Lantern rumors were thrown out to intentionally mislead people. Thus, whatever is going on in that Green Lantern Corps concept art, I doubt it bears a likeness to Chris Pine.

I don't trust WB when it comes to Green Lantern. First they were going forward with GL2, then there were rumors of a GL/Flash movie in 2018, now the plan is supposedly GLC in 5 years?! I don't think anyone at the studio has a clear vision of how to handle the Lanternverse at all.

Were you at comic con? According to people, who were actually there in Hall H, said the concept art looked like Chris Pine. So obviously whoever made that concept must of thought maybe Pine was gonna be GL or just made a concept art of Hal Jordan that happened to just look similar to Pine.

Anyway with Pine choosing to play Trevor, my next choice to play Hal is Jake Gyllenhaal. His last few films have been great and I loved Southpaw, so I think he make a great Hal. He was rumored to replace Tom Hardy in Suicide Squad so he's been up for a DC role before.

I love how Chris Pine would rather play Wonder Woman's boyfriend than Green Lantern. ><

We don't know that he made that choice. He may not have been given an option.

I'd rather have Gyllenhaal as Hal than Pine

What a waste if true. I can't imagine even bothering to see this WW movie. Pine should be playing Hal.

For some reason Gyllenhaal has always annoyed me. I don't hate him, but I don't particularly like him.

Disappointing he won't be Hal but his decision is likely more driven by being gunshy about being burdened with the pressure of headlining another franchise than not wanting the role.

I'm not too disappointed - Pine's a decent young Kirk, but I don't want to see him as Hal. I feel like he'd still come across as Kirk. (or Jack Ryan, or any number of heroic roles he's already played)

It was bogus anyway. Before covering #1, he lists several movies that are worse than GL. No one in their right mind should say that Steel was a better or more enjoyable movie.

Despite the actual quality of the movie itself,(I would rate it as "not good, but not terrible") I feel like the underperformance of the movie is more prominent because it was a big budget summer film, GL is a higher profile character, and there were a lot more expectations from WB and from GL's fanbase.

Wow this thread is almost 600 pages now! Ion glad to hear some say that... As many of you know I worked on the film for over 6 months! I know you all are not going to go back read 580 pages here to see why I say that... In short as I talked about before the film was much better. it was the editing that made feel rushed and weak...

Ryan was amazing, I do not care what anyone says I was there!

Anywho... after a ton requests for the movie patches again. I am doing 2nd limited run for the Ferris Aircraft/Sabre and names tags. Get them while they last!!!

I'm sure he was very impressive in person, but anyone's opinion of his performance is just as valid as anyone else's and most people only have what we saw on screen to go by. Personally, I thought he was a very good Hal Jordan and could have been great had the role been written differently. (i.e. not so many scenes of him doubting himself) Certainly the editing hurt the film and kept killing and any kind of momentum, but unless there were a ton of scenes left on the editing room floor, my problems with the film - Parallax as an uninteresting villain, uninspired use of the GLC, all that talky-talk about Hal's feelings and the boring space sequences - would have still made for a less than satisfying Green Lantern movie.

It's been my experience that people who say GL is among the worst CBMs are people who also haven't seen many CBMs. When asked if they think GL is actually worse than Vampirella, Captain America 1990, 3 Dev Adam, Steel, or Monkeybone, or Man-Thing, they often don't know that those movies exist.

I agree that Ryan did a stellar job, and I wish he didn't feel so frustrated with the reaction to it.
