I'm not sure. The box the figure came in looked almost like it came from Japan. I should have taken a pic of it while I was at the show.

the difference between the regular Classic Lion-O and the SDCC version is paint and the stand. The SDCC Version has a metalic finish on the armor and claw shield and it comes with the purple stand. The store version has neither feature.

My two 8" classics came in yesterday. I love Lion-O, but Tygra looks too fat. For whatever reason Bandai did not give Tygra an ab-crunch (which Lion-O has). This makes his torso seem rather barrel shaped. Still, he is a cool figure. I never had any of the original line from the '800s, and those are too expensive for me now, so these will fill the void nicely.
