Square Enix SDCC 2014 Exclusives

Straight from E3, the company tweeted out its first SDCC exclusive, the limited color version of Batman from the videogame Batman: Arkham Origins:

No word on details, such as production run or price, but we’ve reached out to the company for additional information. And we’ve also asked if, like last year, these will also be available online, for those who aren’t attending SDCC. We’ll update as soon as we receive word.

Square Enix SDCC 2014 Exclusives UPDATE

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima tweeted an image of a Big Boss figure, stating “Special color version only available at San Diego Comicon next month”. Here’s the picture of the Big Boss figure:

The tweet was retweeted by the official Square Enix Merchandise Division account, indicating this will be another SDCC exclusive from the company. There’s precedence for this as well. Even though the games are produced by Konami, Square Arts has produced several PLAY ARTS -KAI- figures from the Metal Gear franchise. Stay tuned

The Square Enix site has updated with a blog post detailing the Limited Color PLAY ARTS -KAI- Arkham Origins Batman. First the details, from the post:

Quote:
This limited color variant version, a 2014 San Diego Comic Con Exclusive, incorporates Batman’s iconic style with a metallic finish, heightening the contrast and drama of its design. We have brought this youthful version of Batman to life in glorious three dimensions, but also we have heightened the depth and beauty of its design with a multi-dimensional luminous shine, as if watching over Gotham in the moonlight. Accessories include a Batarang and a gun. Display stand is included.
Next, the item is limited to 1000 pieces and will come in window box packaging (as seen in our update below). Dimensions for the figure are W 12.5″ x D 2.8″ x H 10.6″.

Lastly, the figure will sell for $99.99 and can be pre-ordered for shipping now (not available for on-site pick-up). Limit of three per order.

Here are some official images of the figure from the product page:

Moebius Models SDCC 2014 Exclusives

Moebius Models, manufacturer of classic sci-fi and horror models, is coming back to San Diego Comic-Con with some more high-quality kits sure to grab the attention of attendees. Last year, the company brought the beautiful 1966 Adam West Batman kit, as well as the more modern Dark Knight and Joker kit from the Christopher Nolan series.
The company has now started to unveil its 2014 exclusives, and we’ll update this master post when new kits are announced.

Moebius Models has announced its first exclusive for 2014, the 1/18 scale Catwoman on Bat-Pod, based on the Anne Hathaway Selena/Catwoman from The Dark Knight Rises, and will come in deluxe packaging as shown below:

Here’s the description from the product page:
Quote:
Hand built and painted from the Moebius Models plastic kit. Catwoman is a resin cast figure sculpted by Jeff Yager. Get one while they last! Product will be limited to 200 per day starting Wednesday night.
Good that they will have allocations of this for each day of Comic-Con. The exclusive will run $45 + tax and will be limited to a run of 1000 kits. This will be available at the Merit International booth, #5349; and the Moebius Models booth, #2946, starting Preview night.

Also mentioned, the company will soon be unveiling SDCC-exclusive kits for Man of Steel and Zod. We’ll update when these are unveiled.

Moebius Models SDCC 2014 Exclusives Update
Moebius Models has revealed the next set of their exclusives – Man of Steel and Zod statues, which will be limited to 250 pieces during Comic-Con, with an allotment of 50 per day available to attendees. The statues are available for $150, and we’re hearing they will come with a special shopping bag. Catwoman, which we revealed earlier this month, will also come with her own special bag. For those that purchase either of the statues, they will receive an order card for a third piece – a Black Kryptonian suit with heat-vision eyes. The Kryptonian suit will have a variation of the standard blue/red suit arm, and will only be available after the show with the card enclosed in the SDCC exclusive package. Here’s a look at the Man of Steel statues and packaging:

The Infinity Gauntlet will rule all creation when the six Infinity Gems are affixed to the glove, and now it can rule your loose change with this impressive bank! The Previews Exclusive Infinity Gauntlet Bank features all 6 Infinity Gems affixed. You won't be able to rule all creation, but you will be able to rule your finances with this Marvel Infinity Gauntlet Bank!
While not an SDCC exclusive, it looks MUCH better than the other Gauntlet and is much cheaper.

Mattel’s San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusives UPDATE

After we got a sneak peak of the upcoming Hot Wheels and Star Wars collaboration, the digital version of Road & Track magazine now has the details on exactly what the upcoming Comic-Con exclusive will look like, after getting their hands on Star Wars Insider #150 (which will be available on newsstands on June 10).

According to Road & Track, the Mattel exclusive will be a Darth Vader vehicle, the first of an all-new line of character-inspired original Star Wars vehicles, die-casts, and traditional cars wearing Star Wars decos to be unveiled at SDCC. The photo unveiled in the magazine is actually a life-size version of the figure (that will go to one lucky winner), and attendees will be able to purchase the toy-sized version at Comic-Con, that comes in a special display case in the shape of Darth Vader’s lightsaber.

Road & Track has other photos of the exclusive, as well as additional details. The article did not mention price, but it did say that a “select” number of exclusives would be available after Comic-Con on HotWheelsCollectors.com.

USA Today has exclusively unveiled photos of the several of Mattel’s San Diego Comic-Con 2014 exclusives, including a closer look at the Darth Vader die-cast car ($40), the unveiling of a Masters of the Universe Goat Man ($27) which comes equipped with a “spiffy hammer”, a Turbo Charged Max Steel ($20) and his sword Steel, and a DC Classic TV Series Batman Utility Belt ($125) modeled after Adam West’s 1960′s uniform. From USA Today, here’s a look at the new figures – and you can find more photos at USA Today’s site.

I hope it is only the packaging that is exclusive for the Vader car. I'd like to be able to get that (and probably some other character versions) at a local retailer someday.

Warframe is the upcoming free-to-play third-person shooter developed by Digital Extremes for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. No pictures or other details revealed for the Warframe Ninja Hoodie figurine, but we’ll update as soon as we get the info.

This would be beyond cool if she said the, "My name is Talky Tina..." phrases from the show. For a 2" figure that does nothing, it's not worth the cost.

I'd love those, but not $100-worth.

I think a lot of that art (or else something very similar) is available on T-shirts. Not that that has anything to do with anything, just felt like mentioning it.

I figured this figure would be around $100 and will probably sell out onsite. It's most likely a pass for me.
