Default San Jose, CA. Super Toy Show: December 3, 2011

The last show was really good as far as action figures and collectibles. I'm hoping to make it to this show.

Thanks Sylent for posting and reminding me of this. I've been wanting to go for over a year now since I found out about this convention. Unfortunately the Saturdays they were scheduled would be conflicted and then I'd forget about the convention entirely.

I think I might be able to make December 3 this year though. Did you go early bird or just regular. Is it worth the extra $10 in ticket price for those 2 extra hours?

DO NOT GO EARLY BIRD!!! It's a complete waste of money. If you go, I suggest you get there early, say 10:30 so you can walk right in for the general show. The last show they had, I showed up at 11:00 and the line was around the corner and outside the gate. It took about 30 minutes just to get in.

I checked out the website the other day, as I was considering on setting up a booth to sell some stuff, but it was all booked up. I'm thinking folks need some extra cash for the holidays.

The last show had a really good turn out so I'm betting many of the attendees decided to book tables for themselves to unload extra stuff and make a quick buck. I was thinking of bringing a box with stuff I'm trying to move and walk around with it like I did in the old days before the internet/eBay killed the smaller toy shows.

Might be a good idea. You do what you have to do in this economy to get by.

Default brand cialis

I just turned 53 young, not so old, huh, and have been suffering from erectile dysfunction for more than 8 years. Different techniques and medications did not help me or were useful just for a while and then the problem returned. Only with Brand Cialis I could obtain a perfect intercourse and reliable effect. I was enough hard and it lasted for long to never complain about. Libido and intensive climaxes were much better with Kamagra than any other medicine

I really don't need anything, but I'll be looking for good deals on the following items:

Parallax Kyle
Marvel Universe Archangel
Marvel Unvierse Ms. Marvel (Black Costume)
Marvel Select Spider-Woman
Arkham Aslyum Bane

Sylent and I check out the Super Toy Show. Most of the table had the same merchandise. Some of it was over priced.

So, I was looking for a Batman Arkham Asylum Bane and I found one for $35 (a post-it was on it) brand new/sealed, which is an awesome deal in the secondary market considering it's been selling on eBay for like $50-$75. So, like a lot of people at these events, I tried to haggle with the price and offered $30 for it. The guy in charge of the table called someone to see if it was okay. The guy is on the phone for a minute or two and then takes the figure and puts it away in a box. A real shady move. The guy gets off the phone and says, "Oh, it wasn't suppose to be on the table. Sorry." I'm like "What?" The was a fucking bitch move. Sylent and I looked at each other and knew the guy on the other side of the phone looked the selling price on eBay and was going to post it there. Of course, if I had known that the dude would take the figure back, I would have never tried to haggle with the price.

At first I was upset with the dude. But later, I became more upset with myself for not just buying it at $35 knowing it was going for over $50 on eBay. Additionally, I reminded myself how many times I pased on Bane when it was at my local comic book store and I could have bought for $17. I'm still kicking myself over this incident. My wife says, "That's what you get for trying to get over on a good deal. You got greedy."

Whatever.

Anyway, for most of my purchases, I was about to knock off a few bucks by haggling with the prices.

Here's my haul:

DC Direct Supergirl = $12
DC Direct Darkseid = $12
DCUC 2 Manhunters = $15
DCUC Indigo Atom = $4
Bishoujo Jean Grey = $30
Superman Returns = $2
Witchblade Statue = $5
DC Direct Teen Titans Wonder Girl = $7
DC Direct Hush Poison Ivy = $10

I was a bit disappointed with this show. There weren't as many good deals as last time and there wasn't as many DC Universe figures. Plus, most of the people that had things I was interested in knew how much they were worth on the secondary market. I also regret not picking up a bobblehead when I had the chance. When I came back to get it, someone else snagged it. I'm still upset about that. I kind of regret not getting a new Re-Activated Superman. I could have gotten one for $7, but was afraid the wrist would snap off like the last one.

I too catalogued my haul, but didn't get as much stuff.

Superman Prime (for a custom)- $10. I talked him down from $15.
GL Effigy- $5. Talk him down from $9.
Bruce Bochy Bobblehead- $20. Talked him down from $25.
Indigo Atom- $4. Got this ONLY for the Staff since Munnk didn't come with one.
Blue & Orange Mini Lanterns- Traded SDCC Starro. I traded the same guy a Starro for the Red and Green batteries at the last show.

The best part of these shows is the negotiating process. Most folks want to desperately get rid of their stuff which opens up the possibility of haggling. Nobody wants to take all their stuff home at the end of the day so when the show is about to end is when you can get some really good deals.
