As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, veteran Broadway actor Joseph Siravo—perhaps better known to TV audiences as Tony Soprano’s father on HBO’s The Sopranos—has died from colon cancer. Siravo was 66. Siravo’s first big break onscreen came when he was cast in Carlito’s Way in 1993 opposite Sean Penn and Al Pacino. He played Italian gangster Vinnie Taglialucci, who blamed Penn and Pacino’s characters for the deaths of his father and brother. The appearance made enough of an impression on the film and TV industries that Siravo landed a significant number of mobster-type parts after that, including his recurring role as Johnny “Johnny Boy” Soprano on HBO’s The Sopranos and appearances on For Life and The Blacklist. In an Instagram post, his Sopranos co-star Micael Imperioli also had a lot of praise to share about his role as John Gotti in the 2015 film The Wannabe.

Bernie Madoff, the disgraced former financier who ran the largest Ponzi scheme in history, has died, sources confirmed to ABC News. Madoff earned global notoriety by defrauding thousands of investors, to the tune of nearly $65 billion, using a Ponzi scheme that unraveled shortly after the Great Recession of 2008. Good riddance I say.

Holy shit, what the fuck? This is just heartbreaking. I loved her on Peaky Blinders, and remember in the Harry Potter films alongisde other things. I was hoping to see her in more stronger work in the future, and then this happens. Cancer man, it sucks. Helen McCrory OBE, star of stage and screen, has died. Her husband Damian Lewis – to whom McCrory had been married since 2007 – confirmed the sad news in a statement today (16th April). Peaky Blinders star McCrory, who was aged 52, had been diagnosed with cancer, with Lewis saying she had fought “an heroic battle” and had “died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family.”

Rusty Young — co-founder, singer, and multi-instrumentalist with the pioneering country-rock band Poco — died April 14th of a heart attack. Young, who was 75, passed away at his home in Davisville, Missouri. His death was confirmed by a spokesperson, Mike Farley. In Poco, Young made his name and reputation as one of the first musicians to integrate a pedal steel guitar, then largely associated with country, into rock & roll. Young’s spunky playing enriched the band’s goal of fusing two seemingly disparate genres, and on Poco standards like “A Good Feelin’ to Know,” he even pushed the sonic limits of the instrument. “Rusty was one of the most innovative people on the pedal steel guitar,” Poco founder Richie Furay tells Rolling Stone. “Nobody had ever heard a steel guitar run through a Leslie cabinet when we were doing it. We wanted to bring rock and country together, and that pedal steel gave us that rock & roll organ sound.”

Felix Silla, best known as the gibberish-spouting Cousin Itt on the 1960s TV sitcom The Addams Family, died today from pancreatic cancer. He was 84 and died in Las Vegas, according to a tweet from Gil Gerard, who costarred with him on the 1979-81 NBC series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Silla donned a full-body hairpiece, sunglasses and a bowler hat to achieve the role of Cousin Itt, who could only be understood by members of the Addams Family, thanks to his strange mumbling. The role was one of several where Silla’s face went unseen, including appearances as robot Twiki on Buck Rogers and as a hang-gliding Ewok in Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi.

It’s been a difficult week for New York hip-hop. On Saturday, entertainment manager Kal Dawson confirmed that Black Rob passed away at just 51 years old. TMZ also confirmed the news, adding that the rapper passed away in a hospital in Atlanta after a reported battle with kidney failure. Mark Curry—rapper and collaborator of Rob and Diddy’s—also shared the news. “I don’t know where to begin this, but I thank everybody for the donations,” Curry said in a video between tears. “Rob passed away about an hour ago.” He then asked Rob’s children to get in touch with him.
