After flipping through UCSM in the shop the other day, I reluctantly put it back on the shelf.

But Lafuente's art does nothing for me. I couldn't look at it long enough to read Bendis' long-winded dialogue.

I said in another post, I am staying away from the Ulitmate Universe. They are going to get the top writers for a couple of arcs and then let the thing run it's course until we get the same thing we had last time. Coach I know your going to chastise me for these remarks, but hey unless I hear months down the road that this stuff is the "kind" I'm not even going here. Investing time and money to these characters that need a reboot is a risk I am not going to take. Plus I have Budget Cuts going on already.

Coach ain't the only one.

You should pick up Ultimate Avengers....at least in trade. That is going to be a fantastic book and I don't want you to miss out.

I read the first issue. I didn't like it. Bendis' writing has been upsetting me for the last two years or so, and you're right. I would be more lenient if the art were better.

I feel your pain. If I could do it all again, the only Ultimate comics I would read would be Millar's Ultimates.

So, I would recommend reading Ultimate Avengers, at least in trade.

At the worst, you'll get some entertaining stories with great art.

I went to the LCS today and got Ultimate Avengers. Couldn't resist. That's one less desert each month.

Loved the issue too. Nice twist on Red Skull. I thought Cap was the one who didn't use Parachutes. Danvers phone conversation with Stark reminded me that this is Millar writing the damn book again.

Yeah, that was a nice call-back to Ultimates #1. I guess Cap has learned a lot since the 40's?

Hey, if you were frozen in ice for 60 years, you would be more cautious too.

It probably is, considering Bendis' love for him.

Love the Spinal Tap reference in the Armor Wars solicit.

I wonder who the girl is in the Avengers cover.

A better artist.

Nah, he could be fine. I don't know, though.

Because that wasn't a redesign. That was Ultron's Iron Man, remember?

Plus that Iron Man armor looked like more like the Iron Man armor in regular marvel continuity

I can understand why Bendis writing lately has been sloppy the reason I have dropped New Avengers, but I though this issue was good, and holds a lot promise. I can deal with the Art

Well, more power to ya. It's not for ME, but it could be for YOU.

Oh, and, for the record, the writing bothered me more than the art.

I kind of liked that preview.

Aside from the art, of course.
