Well I'm not Old School, I'm New School, ok bad joke there, anyways to answer the question that is Zatanna in another costume behind the Flash.

Also It is going to be interesting if Geoff has been looking over the script of the GL movie and who they get to be casted for each character.

That was the "tuxedo-esque" costume designed by George Perez, which actually debuted in The New Teen Titans #4 (which came out a few weeks before JLA 187, where Zatanna actually changed the costume magically).

Notice that the Flash and Zatanna are holding hands in that style guide pic. This was during a time when Gerry Conway was introducing a romantic relationship between the two in the JLA title (that also started in JLA 187). It got nixed fairly quickly by the Flash editor when Barry and Fiona started getting serious in the Flash title...

And say, doesn't Black Canary look a little tall in that pic?

Default Green Lantern Spoilers From Rob Liefield!

Green Lantern Spoilers From Rob Liefield!

In an exclusive interview with Nukethefridge.com, Liefield(creator of Deadpool) revealed some very interesting things about Martin Campbell's upcoming Green Lantern adaptation...
What does Rob Liefield, the man behind Deadpool, Cable, and some of the most lambasted artwork in comic history have to do with the big screen Green Lantern movie? Well, apparently he is very close to the production because he is good friends with the FX supervisors.

When Nukethefridge caught up with him over the weekend at the Frank And Son Collectible Show, Liefield revealed that...

"He has seen most of the storyboards for the Green Lantern film and he claims that it looks fantastic. He said that if they could translate what is on the storyboards to film, the movie would be amazing. Over one-third of the movie is set on OA, the home world of the Green Lanterns. The film will have numerous Green Lanterns, including fan favorite Kilowag and Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) mentor turned archenemy, Sinestro."

If this turns out to be accurate, how cool is it that the movie will be set predominantly in space?! I was worried that they may try to ground the very sci-fi orientated GL comics mostly on Earth. It also means that we will indeed be seeing everyone's favorite Poozer, Kilowog

We knew all this from the iesb and latinoreview script reviews among others, and the early draft of the script if you were lucky to read it before.

Yes I think we are all anxiously looking for signs that this movie is still alive and well. News has been rare as of late, and the rumor sights are starting to recycle past articles. Sorry gents! My drill Sergeant used to always tell me to "PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL NUMB NUTS!"

What is the timeframe we can expect to see the actual GL symbol they'll use for the film? I remember the Superman "S" was out long before the film and so was Nolan's Batsymbol...I'm interested to see it since we'll be bombarded with that particular symbol for a while on all merchandise and I'm wondering how stylized it'll become...

Last I heard principle Photography wasn't supposed to begin till mid November so it will be at least 3 or 4 months after that, that we will get a teaser trailer or poster art.

Green Lantern to shoot in Mexico?

Quote:
Warner Bros is understood to be preparing to shift its Green Lantern production to Mexico from Australia, where the booming currency has blown out costs.

The latest proposal overrides recent plans to shift the film to the US state of Louisiana, although a final decision has yet to be made.

If the shoot does proceed at Fox Studios Australia it would add more than $US20 million to production costs due to the rising dollar, according to sources.

However, it is understood that Warner Bros is continuing to pay Fox Studios Australia to hire its eight sound stages although there have been rumours that it may use the space to shoot another film.

Green Lantern, which will star Ryan Reynolds in the lead role, is set to begin filming early next year. It was originally scheduled to begin filming at Fox Studios Australia in November.

Hollywood thriller Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is currently shooting in Melbourne while Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader began filming at the Warner Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast in July.

However, Warner Bros had not locked in its financing when NSW Premier Nathan Rees announced the State had won the production in April this year. The value of the Australian dollar has since risen to about 87.5 US cents from about 72 US cents at that time.

“We still haven’t given up on Green Lantern but the way the exchange rate is going up it’s looking more and more unlikely,” one source said.

As well as facing a rising Australian dollar, Green Lantern director Martin Campbell is also understood to have made substantial script amendments, which required a higher budget, placing further pressure on the production’s Australian base.

Another source suggested the production might have required more studio space than Fox Studios Australia could accommodate.

I hope they get this location question answered asap. The longer it lingers, the more there's a chance for it to fall apart. Commit and move forward! Lock this fucker down!

Hmmm still not sure why they just don't use Edwards AFB in Ca.? But I guess Mexico would simulate that. Hell, use Pheonix , AZ (Luke AFB).

Maybe because you don't film movies on an air base? Maybe they plan on having more than one setting? lol

"Green Lantern" Will NOT Be Shot in AUSTRALIA

The falling U.S. dollar has forced Warner Bros Pictures to reassess the viability of shooting a number of projects in several countries, after confirming Friday that its pulling production of “Green Lantern” out of Australia.

The studio said that “the current global economic situation, including fluctuations in currency valuation and overall costs,” forced the decision, in a statement issued through agency Screen NSW.

“We have also had to reassess film projects in other countries as well,” it said.

On Friday the Australian dollar hit a 27-year high against the U.S. dollar, closing at 95 cents, a 30% decrease in value for the greenback since the shoot was announced six months ago, and which would reportedly add over $20 million in cost to the production.

The Aussie dollar is being tipped by analysts to reach parity with the U.S. dollar in the coming weeks and could go as high as AUS$1.10 next year.

“After working closely with our partners at the NSW Film and Television Office (Screen NSW) and examining every scenario, we have decided to move the production of ‘Green Lantern.’ We are extremely grateful for the assistance we have received from the NSW Government, Fox Studios and the NSW filmmaking community,” the statement finished.

Industry sources here suggest “Green Lantern” will move to Mexico or Canada.

The NSW government announced in April it had secured the "Green Lantern" shoot at Fox Studios and production was to have started in November. Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale") is set to direct Ryan Reynolds ("The Proposal") in the big screen comic book adaptation, which is set for a summer 2011 release.

The Warner Bros decision is a blow to the Australian industry at a time when it's lauding the release of “Where The Wild Things Are,” which was made in Victoria. Walden Media’s “Voyage Of The Dawn Treader” is the only big budget offshore feature currently being shot here, at the Warner Roadshow Studios in Queensland. Big ticket animated features, “Guardians of Ga’Hoole” and “Happy Feet 2,” both of which Warner Bros is backing, are currently in production in Sydney.

Ausfilm and other state agencies are currently promoting Australia’s locations, incentives and crew expertise, with a new “Make it In Australia” marketing campaign in Los Angeles.
