Exactly. One of my problems with Johns is that he doesn't seem to grasp that you can't just say a character is something (ie: Sinestro is leagues above all other green lanterns) without showing. It conflicts with him how Johns himself has written the character, let alone other writers. That's the problem with making Hal look an idiot 80% of the time as well.

Let's see the Sinestro Corps is going to be destroyed soon, Nekron was stopped, and he survived that. He might have had a slip up but he knows what he's doing now.

i wonder if this sinestros way of maybe training hal for the right reasons.

remember what he says in issue 2 or 3 that have you ever really accepted the ring?

that makes me wonder if thats refering to hal not fully understanding what it does unlike someone then sinestro himself.

and who knows maybe sinestro still has some good in him deep down to where the ring picked up on that and went back on his finger

Sinestro should have very little good in him, he needs to be a villain.

Now why does he need to be a Villain? He is working really well how he is right now.

I've always liked Lee's art, but shouldn't Aquaman be looking down at the man he defeated instead of posing for the camera?

It's Geoff Johns he demands that his cover be misleading.

He's looking at the fish he's commanding to come eat Hal.

Green Lantern #7 Inked Cover by Doug Mahnke

Quote:
“Tor lorek san, bor nakka mur,
Natromo faan tornek wot ur.
Ter Lantern ker lo Abin Sur,
Taan lek lek nok–Formorrow Sur!”
-Oath of the Indigo Tribe

Not much is known about the mysterious Indigo Tribe; even their oath is all but impenetrable to anyone not of their numbers. But the upcoming storyline of GREEN LANTERN will explore their secrets, revealing shocking truths that will shake the foundations of the entire Lantern universe.

Wielding the light of Compassion, the reclusive Indigo Tribe will be the focus of an ongoing story which begins with GREEN LANTERN #7 – written by fan-favorite, critically acclaimed author Geoff Johns and illustrated by artists Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy.

In “The Secret of the Indigo Tribe,” the uneasy alliance of Hal Jordan and Sinestro continues, as they are taken to the Indigo homeworld to uncover the truths behind a heinous crime. But what crime could keep this unlikely duo together, driving them to investigate a corps ostensibly dedicated to the spread of goodwill throughout the galaxy? And what dark secrets will Hal and Sinestro discover out in the unknown reaches of deep space?

What do we think? Are we finally going to get some answers, or more random story threads which are never fully unraveled?

I imagine Hal and Sinestro will share the book until whatever cross-over they're planning occurs, and then it goes back to Hal with Sinestro either taking his corps back over or getting his own GL type book.

Green Lantern #7 Variant Cover by Ian Churchill

Quote:
Back in December, we told you that GREEN LANTERN #7 will kick off a brand new story arc, “The Secret of the Indigo Tribe.” In it, Hal and Sinestro’s uneasy alliance will continue as they travel to the Indigo homeworld to uncover the truths behind a heinous crime.

Today, take an exclusive first look at fan-favorite artist Ian Churchill’s variant cover for the issue, both in black and white and its final colored version.

“The GREEN LANTERN editor, Brian Cunningham, asked for a cover involving the character Indigo-1 and to have the two Green Lanterns completely defeated!” Churchill exclusively told THE SOURCE. “I came up with a few thumbnails and Brian preferred this one because he said he liked the way it reversed the clichéd view of the male on the throne flanked by females.

So with that in mind, I went ahead and this was the result. Having to leave space for the bar code at the bottom was a challenge with this one, but I managed to make it work – in the end!

I then passed it on to Alex Sollazzo for color and… voila! One GREEN LANTERN variant cover was created!”

GREEN LANTERN #7 goes on sale on March 14th.

Green Lantern #8 Variant Cover by Dale Keown

Quote:
“This is the first time I've drawn Green Lantern but I think I had more fun drawing Sinestro,” Keown told THE SOURCE. “My favorite things to draw are space scenes and green stuff. I had a ball doing this cover and I hope I can do more.”

I really like that Keown cover. And I also like how he gives Sinestro a widow's peak, unlike Mahnke.
