Well, quick update, my mask is waiting for me at the Post Office and my Boots should arrive by Wednesday.

I've got a "project day" with our Star Wars fan club this Saturday, I'll be spending all day working on GL costume stuff, so hopefully I'll have more updates by Sunday. I'll post pics of the boots when I get them.

Sorry, I guess I never posted links.

Mask: http://www.xtremedesignfx.com/eyefacewear.htm (Domino in black)
Boots: http://www.adamshorsesupply.com/browse.cfm/4,1971.html

Also, if anyone's on Goggle Wave, I have a wave setup for note-taking. I can invite people to it, as long as you don't mess with my messages

Careful.

Rubber doesn't hold paint well at all when it's being flexed.

I've already tested this particular paint on stretch pleather, it's latex based paint and it's designed to stick to damned near anything and flex with it (which it does, wonderfully). That being said, I haven't specifically tried it on rubber yet, but I don't anticipate any issues.

The mask arrived yesterday and my boots will hopefully be waiting for me when I get home.

I modified the mask slightly last night, the default nose piece covers the bottom of your nose, so using some utility scissors I was able to cut-out the bottom portion to make the mask more comic-like. I'll post some pics when I have the chance.

I should be painting the boots/mask this week/weekend.

Well, the mask is finished, I painted it this weekend and the results are fantastic, I used the Createx airbrush paint as I had intended, It took around 3-4 coats of paint to cover it all sufficiently. The green is perfect, and the metallic sheen comes across great.

(I just noticed that the mask makes my eyes look really green... BONUS)

I realized that the boots were a bit tall after they arrived, they fit my feet and calves fine, but they tended to dig into the back of my knee when running or sitting. So I took them to a local shoe shop to have them altered, they'll not only be making them an inch or two shorter, they'll also be angling the tops more. I should have them back by Tuesday, at which time I'll begin painting them.

Unfortunately, I just got a call from the shoe place, turns out they can't work on rubber boots (lame) so we'll likely have to cut them down ourselves, which we had planned to do initially, but thought better of taking it to professionals. Cest la vi

I'll include pics and description of how we mod the boots.
